OK on the hunt for a new StarBoard SUP around the 140 ltr mark mostly for use in the waves in WA Metro area, currently on a 9 ft 2¡¨ Allwave and moving on to carbon heaven ƒº

But which one Starboard have so many in the 9 ft surf section.

Pocket Rocket
8ft 10¡¨ WP
9 ft Converse
9 ft 5¡¨ Converse
9 ft 8¡¨ Pro Surf
9 ft 5¡¨ WP

Ok I will need to test first but need to narrow the list a bit before I commit the $$$$ any thoughts and experiences would be greatly appreciated as the website is sadly lacking in detail on how they compare.

I have just bought the new 2013 Starboard 8'10 WP in carbon last week and have used it about 5 times after using the 8'2 model and the Naish Hokua 9'5 & Naish Hokua 9'10.....and this board beats them all. It handles the steep take off with ease, it's easy to paddle into waves & it rips through sections. Hitting the lip & carving is simple. It also has a lot of speed to burn for a 32 inch wide board but this width is great is for stability especially when paddling over the white wash trying to get out the back. Overall this new board is my goto board from overhead to 1 ft mush from now on.

I know you said you are looking at SB's, but have you had a look at the Fanatic Pro Wave 9'3" Limited Edition Carbon Ineggra's? Seeing as you have a Fanatic already ...

It would compare favourably among the boards you have mentioned.

I think the pocket rocket is a great board for the smaller waves around the Perth metro area. I have ridden one a few time now down Cot and really enjoyed how you could throw it around.

The people I have talked to that own them seem to really like them as well.

I am 85kg and found it quite stable, i think you would find it fine for stability.

It is also a lot easier having a shorter board to carry around and you will love the lighter weight of the carbon.

Having said that the 8 10" wide point is also a nice board. - and not to dis similar. (i would not go any bigger)

If we had serious waves in Perth the other boards would probarly suit better.

When in the name of all that is holy going to update the website so we can see the new years boards. Im going through SB withdrawal

I have a 9'5 Hokua great board but im looking to replace it with something a little bigger or wider for my performance SUB was thinking of the 9'10 but now also looking at 9'5 WP the 8'10 just seems bit small for me at 105 kgs. Thoughts?

n8wx, i demoed the 9'5 Hokua and 9'5 WP back to back in about 2 to 3 foot waves for two hours.
Ended up buying the 9'5WP more stable and more forgiving on late take off's as i found the 9'5 hokua nose diving on me a bit. it was probably more me than the board, but it did charge down the line.
But for the fun factor and stability for my 100kg's the 9'5WP was the go.
Maybe also look at the 9'0 X 33 Hero total new shape with good stability.
