G'day DJ,
How long have you had yours for now?
How are you liking it?
Have you had a go on a NSP DC 14? Or a Falcon 14 x 30? If so how do they compare, mainly for stability and ease of runner catching?
Cheers,
Ken.

The GX board in these pics are still the shop demo (from RPS).. I have a new 14' Glide GS on order and they are still not due till early December now.

I originally had an order in for the new 18' Jav.. When I heard that they are not now available and I heard about the new X26 LE Jav I changed my order to it..

I think for our normal DWers when we are stacking boards and just fun DWing I will use my new Glide.. and use the LE Jav for racing and for the odd DWers that I want to go fast..

Still waiting for mine.. The new DC / NSP and new Fanatics are awesome boards.. I'm sure they are all pretty similar in stability and runner catching ability.. I guess you need to demo first to decide what board feels best to you.. and also what colour you like best... I like yellow..

DJ - how similar is the 2014 Javelin GX 14x26" to the Javelin LE 26? I see there is quite a difference in the volume, with the LE being smaller. It is also a lot more expensive I believe.

Also, why did you go with the super-elite fragile expensive construction for one of your boards and the cheapest heavier construction for the other?

Good question.. The 14' x 26" Javelin is a very, very different board to the new 14' x 26" LEX26 Javelin.. The standard Jav is the same length and width.. and look very similar from above.. But it's very flat and made for flat water.. The tail is narrower and very soft rails making it pretty tippy in choppy water.. The new LEX26 Jav is more of an all rounder that will do best on downwinders because it has much more rocker.. A wider tail with sharp rails at the rear.. and it's more stable in choppy water..

My 14' Glide that I have on order is the cheaper GS because it will get used more.. Knocked around when stacking boards for downwinders.. and because I'm not racing it the weight might make it harder to get moving but once moving it should glide longer because of the momentum that it will carry.. It should not flip in the wind as easy after a fall or go tumbling down the beach in a strong gust before I even get into the water.. I see this happen a lot with the super light boards... I had a new 18' Jav on order.. When I found out they are not making the big 18' Jav's and I heard about the new LEX26 DW board I changed my order to it instead.. I also sold my 14' Jav that I used to race on in flat water so I thought this new LEX26 would be a good replacement even though it's super expensive and pretty fragile.. I think for racing the lighter boards have an advantage because you can accelerate them quicker.

I think if they made the LEX26 shape in a cheaper/heavier construction I'd be going for that one... Let's hope one day they do.
