Thanks for the thoughts. I do not require a "Nose" specific board. I can noseride about anything. I am looking for just what you described, a Longboard that surfs well but also lends to some tip time. As you say, boards that are built just to aid noseriding sacrifice too much. Good technique and wide-ish, flat thin nose are all that's really required.
Suggestion on your Nalu? take out the side bites? try it a single fin (9? is good size)
It really loosens up a longer board.
Noosa... the perfect spot for this board! I lived there in the 80's. I did not bring a mal with me. Not many folks riding mals in those days... I was freaking out that I did not have one every time the surf was small.
Most days I trekked out to Granite, to avoid the crowds and get some size.
Noosa was my absolute favorite home away from home (84-85)... If it wasn't so far, I would do 6 months there every year.
I miss that place.
I lived right across from the Noosa Hotel... great view of main beach from there... and close to the pub for afternoon "session"
I tried 20 time to add a picture... oh well

I couldn't agree more,if you nose ride correctly,ie not out on the shoulder.I took my side fins out, with no loss of turning ability.

Single fins are just easier to pivot IMHO and they are faster......
Thanks DJ...a fair shortie on the Nalu, showing a solid noseride... I just wish they would produce longer promo vids on specific boards.
All companies need to get better at that.
I always loved the Coreban promo's that Ivan vanVurran did. They showed the board in 360, plus, in a decent array of surf conditions, that showcased the particular boards strong points.
A quick vid from this morning on the Naish 10'6" Nalu. A lot of fun in next to no waves,
Excellent vid John..
What an awesome board that new 10'6" Nalu is..
.. and paddling with dolphins is always so cool.. ![]()

Nice as always DJ... thanks
I took a lead from KennyK about the Hobie RAW CM LB.
After research and finally finding one... I bought a 10'6 x 32 Hobie RAW CM LB
I didn't realize they were available in OZ. Here is a link to my ongoing thread on the Zone about the RAW... plus some other good "Longboard" SUP thread going at the moment.
