Been paddling for about 6-months on a 2011 Fanatic Fly Race 12'6" and I have been thinking about getting a 2nd board to learn to surf on. I have no surf experience of any type and I was thinking that this would be a good board to start on, I am 6'1" and 105kg.
The board would also be a learner board for my wife and something she can take the kids on when she gets more confident in the flat water.

Has anyone got one of these and would this board suit both requirements?

There is a 2nd hand one in BrisVegas I was thinking of demoing.

Hi,

I had one of these, and caught my first waves with it. I weigh about the same as you.
I think it's a great board to learn on, but I did outgrow if very quickly, and moved to a 10'6.5.

For learning on the flat.... it's as big as a barge! Very stable, and should take a wife and kids with no problems at all...

If it was just for you, I'd go with a 10''6.5, but as it's a dual purpose board, the 10''10 will be a great board..

I love the 10'10" Nalu and hope to buy one myself one day.. It would be perfect for you at your weight.. and also for your wife and kids.. It's very stable.. paddles flat water great.. and it's also good fun in the surf.

Thanks Chris and DJ that has just about sold it for me, just going to see if I can demo the 2nd hand one before I commit to the buy.

DJ, I found a video review you did of the 2013 10'10" Nalu on the Stand-up Zone and it looked pretty good.

Thanks DJ that looks awesome, never windsurfed either but the versatility of the board is great and might be something I would try.
