Thinking of buying a 10' x 32" Naish Mana AST GS SUPB in the next few days. My weight is 90kg. I presently use my
wife's SUPB Naish Alana on limited occasions for flat water & very small wave riding, but she loves to paddle to, so now I need my own board. I would like to eventually to catch medium size waves, and various persons have recommended the Naish Mana AST GS board. Appreciate any advice from members on this board. I am 68 years old, quite fit, probably never get into large wave riding, but I love SUP boarding. My wife & I are returning to Hawaii for a holiday this October, and I would love to have the experience of just getting those small waves off Waikiki beach for starters.

I've had two 10' Mana's and they are awesome boards.. It will be a good match to go with your wife's Alana.. They are both great boards.. To get the most out of them stand forward enough on the board so that the tail is lifted slightly from the water.. This will help with yawing and you will get much better glide.

David John, many thanks for your advice, I feel much better about getting a Mana 10' now. I have spoken to various SUPB shop people, and they
recommended this board, but I felt I needed to speak to someone on Seabreeze. I have taken on board also your advice on standing forward enough so that the tail lifts slightly from the water.
Off to the Sunshine Coast, Qld, this monday to get a new 10' Naish Mana, can't wait, at least I will have my "own" board.

David John, I ended getting a Naish Nalu (10'6") from a place called Ocean Addicts, at Maroochydore, Qld. I looked at many board at numerous board shops around the Sunshine Coast, but I found the help from Ocean Addicts staff (if partiuclar Luke) most helpful, didn't rush me, gave a lot of good
advice. Got back to Hervey Bay, with my new board, can't wait until I get into the water to try it out.

It is like a mine field, isn't it. I live in Maroochydore and have also found the staff at Ocean Addicts to be excellent. I'm not in a hurry to buy a board and am having a great time testing/researching. Must say that the decision between a 10'0" Mana and a 10'6.5" Nalu is confusing enough, then throw in a JP Australia 10'2" Fusion (Sunshine Coast Stand Up Paddle Centre). Given that I don't have a lot of cash to waste on the wrong board I want to be absolutely sure which one suits.

Can highly recommend the JP Fusion. I picked up my new board from surf fx today and took spin at currumbin this afternoon. For 1100 for the ast version it is an awesome board and was great to surf on. Even better the board I ended up with has a thruster setup instead of a single fin. I have previously owned a nalu 10'6.5 which I found a bit too big and a 9'0 Mana which was a bit tippy. But the fusion seems to fit the bill nicely... I'm 84kgs.

Sailryder - I went to Classic Malibu (Noosa), and a few other outlets in Noosa & Noosaville, who were in good, but I found Luke at Ocean Addicts to be excellent, in helping me to pick the best board for my needs. The Nalu was a good price, and the 10'6" was apparently the best size for my weight, size & ability. I was looking for a board to use in Hervey Bay (flat water), but able to catch small waves as I progress (something my wife already does on her Naish Alana board) - yes believe it not, Hervey Bay between high & low tides, does get small waves at certain locations (near sand bars) which allows the riders here to get the feeling of catching a wave. Then when, you feel experienced enough, you drive a short distance to Bargara, Moore Park Beach or Elliott Heads (near Bundaberg) - then when the experience really kicks in, its off to 1770/Agnes Waters, the last place to gets waves before the great barrier reef kicks in. I believe Chris Aboitiz (sorry for any incorrect spelling) lives up that way, with his surfing dog. Great watching Chris at the Festival of Surfing, Noosa Heads. Just wonderful to see the crowds clapping & cheering the paddlers & their dogs.

We are heading to Waikiki in August to witness the "Dukes Festival of Surfing" - it should be a massive 10 day event.

Sailryder - SUPB has brought back a lot of pleasure to my wife & I - we both surfed many many years ago. My first surfboard was semi-gun Keyo
produced at Keyo factory in the northern beaches of Sydney.

Great choice.. I'm glad that I upgraded my 10' Mana to the new 10'6.5 Nalu.. You'll love it for sure.

Hi DavidJohn - nice to hear from you. Yes, I am looking forward to trying the Nalu out in the next few days. Overcast & wet here this morning.
Will wait & see how the weather turns out later in the day.
