Hi, new to SUP having (prone) surfed and windsurfed quite a lot.
I had a try of the Fantic Pro Wave 9'2" but found it too tippy for my 82kgs in sloppy cross-waved chop. The shop in Canberra (Wetspot) let me change over with price difference to the Naish Mana 9'5" GT.
What a board, no issues on flat water, and the extra volume and width made a huge difference in the cross-wave chop at my local break at Tuross Head. I had a ball on the more forgiving Mana.
It might not be the bottom turning shredder of the Fantic Pro-Wave, but $$$ for fun I'm really happy with the Mana & can't wait until my next chance to take it out.
I've had a couple of more surf sessions on the Naish Mana now, I really appreciate the volume in sloppy conditions. I had some great rides off the beach at Tuross Head over the w/e. The rocker in the tail lets the board turn nicely, even lifting the nose to do some slo-mo floaties on close-outs.
Unbeliveably, I even had a couple of surf ladies come up and start asking me about SUP paddling, and board sizes. I hope they get into it!
