Vids of my 1st day on it, then some different size waves over the past few months.

At first I rode it with the stock fins, but it didn't turn me on.... it felt sticky.

I decided to give it another chance.... so I swapped out the center fin for a smaller 5.75" fin (more of a Thruster set-up)

WOW, what a difference.... it totally changed the board, so much fun!
Now it has a solid place in my favorites :)

at 235 lbs (106 kg) I am at a "weight to volume" ratio of 1.35 (1.18 on the 8'10)
Lighter surfers will not find it as tippy as I do. Stable, but has the Sunova "low rail" dip.

The funny thing is.... it is very relaxing for long sessions, in less than perfect conditions.

note:
I have ridden the 8'10 Steeze (8'10 x 30 @ 125 liters) and found it to be a ripper!
So much smaller than the 9'5 but still an easy board to surf, considering it is at another performance level.

Just wanted to chime in that I have an 8'10 STEEZE... GREAT BOARD!!! I got it to fill the gap between my my 8'5 SPEEED and the 10' STYLE. I quickly learned it is as advertised, a "Quiver Killer".. With the thin rails, low volume and pulled in tail, it provides high performance turns from the tail... and with the low rocker, wider nose it's a great nose-rider allowing a classic long-board style. Definitely has asserted itself as my "go to" board with the SPEEED and STYLE being relegated to wave and conditions related "quiver boards".

I've ridden the 9'6 STEEZE and I agree with Creek the it is on a different performance level. But for its size and volume the 9'6 definitely performed extremely well!!!
I definitely recommend the "STEEZE"... Just beware... it may cause you to reduce the number of SUPs that you'll be surfing!!

How much nose rocker does the Steeze have?

I honestly don't know dimensions for nose rocker...
Creek or the guys at Sunova should be able to help you with that. Here is a video of the STEEZE I saw before I ordered mine that gives you a good look from a lot of different angles.
I will say the 8'10
STEEZE nose rides very similarly to my 10' STYLE (REALLY WELL!!)... you can just get to the tip a little quicker!

Whatever the number, it is perfect.... never a worry on a late drop.

Not great shots, but they are all I have from the JAX visit. My Solo was not in the mood to film that week.

Nice video mate. That board really appeals to me. However I will be looking at the 10ft Steeze. Can you comment on the stability of the board between sets when you compare it to similar volume boards?

The Steeze stability is a bit hard to explain.... like most Sunova's, it is tippy stability.
Consider that the 9'6 Steeze has the exact same volume as my old 8'10 Allwave:
My Allwave floated me high and dry, on the Steeze I am right at water level.
The difference is how the foam is distributed with much less rail thickness.

Thicker rails "feel" more stable at first blush, but the low rails have an odd reliability to them.
I used to love the feel of thick rails, now the thicker rails feel "corky" to me.
It depends on which type of "feel" you prefer.

Overall, my Steeze is relaxing and easy to do long sessions with relative ease.

I have some good "wonk paddling" video (shot from the beach) that I will put up.....
after I finish with my van rehab and surfing everyday.... I am out of gas at night!
My van rehab may get it's own thread, cuz it's a cheapo van that I am giving new life.... so much fun, but I can't stay awake to do video's.
ta ta... gotta go finish the new flooring before the tide drops

I guess it's something that you just have to experience to be able to tell if the lower rails are actually as Burt says in his videos more stable paddling at low speeds. In my area we have 2 very small sup shops which choose not to stock any of the higher quality brands. So demoing is quite an obstacle.

Thanks heaps for the video mate. Appreciate the effort to make it for people considering the Steeze. Hope your on the payroll Looks very stable in less than average conditions. My decision is made in getting a 10 Steeze. Current weight 123kg age 30 so as I loose weight I will become more comfy with the board. Only thing stopping me is the minister of finances.

I knew this morning was one of those special ones. Big spread between high and a super low tide. Sucking back out hard after the high. Low dark grey clouds. Dark green steep beachies. I went to the rack. Started to pull out the Creek......hmm......it's still going to be heaving and backwashing I thought. Maybe I should go with the Steeze, it's proving to be pretty bloody dependable, and super stable. But would it handle the steep drops?
It was a good decision.
Super impressed. At 31" wide I thought I might struggle to turn off as the sand loomed, but made every wave. Nimble for a big board.
As the trial and error continues, this 9'6" fun all rounder will always have a place on the rack.

Great to get your feedback on the Steeze, Rick. Especially re the fins!
Time get out there on the 8'6 with a smaller thruster set up!
