So... I picked up a new 10'6 Naish.

The Nalu in stock was very nose heavy and... heavier overall... so I bought the 10'6 Alana.... very svelte.

I customized it by adding a stomp pad into the stock grip. It's my Girlyman board... and I love it!

I have been having such a blast getting my "longboard" fix, that I haven't ridden anything else for the past month.

So... when Hurricane Cristobal sent us some jewels... and a friend was visiting from California... I let him take out my Prowave, and I got to test out the 10'6 in some size.

What a blast.... Alana was very solid all day.... she handled it with ease.... a very nice all around ride.

All you Ozzies are super familiar with the 10'6.... but I see almost NONE where I surf.... it's nice to catch up with you!

Nice work,and lots of fun on the Alana,but where was the Laird?Didn't he get a run.

Cool vid. I have just traded my 9'10" Hokua for a 9'1" X32, but nothing compares to a fun day out on my 10'6". Love that board.

Cmon old mate - you rode it like a short board, theres another 4' in front of the deckpad...............you bought it you may as well use all of it

Waxer.... I could only secure 2 boards on a distant road trip.... and Laird has not earned a berth yet. Still seeing if fin changes will make it a keeper. So far, the Alana is proving to be a much snappier board. The Laird noserides much better.... very controllable and fun on the front end... but turning it.... the Alana wins, hands down.

Joffa.... single fin only... wish it had sidebites. I have been running a big wide 10.5" fin, back in the box..... turns fine and holds ok on noserides.

and a sweet shot of my classic foot work, as I step delicately to the nose....see below

That fin is soooo good! Shame they dropped it from the Nalu range

Looking good compadre. Cristobal was very kind to us all. Rode my Rawson 9'4" and caught some bombs!

You did - I must of missed it in the re watch too
And well perhaps you need to work on your crossstepping on the way too the nose But you and i are havin fun thats all that actually maters

Nice vid! love the board short weather. Thats a great looking left, with a thick lip for wipeouts! lol..

that is a great video..love the stoke of sup you project through the video. I like how the wipeout at the end is presented as a fun part of the experience, too.

Just a query for those in the know - are the Alana models the same as the 'normal' Naish models of the same size apart from the colouring?

ie, are the rails, rocker & bottom contours on the 10'6" Alana the same as the 10'6" Nalu? (for the 2014 models).
