hi all , looking for some advice for a new board , currently I ride a blue planet fun stick , 9'4x33x140l
Im 5'10 and around 85 kg , and been paddling about 2 years ,
after a recent bulged disk in my neck , my balance isn't as good as it use to be ,and I'm after a new board that is more stable in the choppy conditions we get in western vic
So I've narrowed it down to a 10' xl style or a 10' steeze , most of waves I ride are around 2-5' , any advice would be greatly appreciated cheers Bill

I found the 10'0 Sunova Style XL to be super stable at 139 litres (newer model might be slightly fewer litres). I'm about 88kg and reasonably experienced in the waves. I do reckon it's a bit over-finned with the stock centre fin unless you only want to noseride. A smaller centre fin helps it surf really nicely off the tail in a cruisey kind of way. I've also surfed the 8'10 Speeed and love it. Haven't tried the Steeze but I reckon it would be a far better all-rounder than the Style and sufficiently stable with it. Good in little waves and a far better option in bigger ones. The Style is a nice board, but between the two, the Steeze looks the goods to me. Just my 2 cents.
PS ... Just to complicate matters... the dims on the 9'6 look pretty good for you too!

I would go the Steeze......looks a better bet to me as a general do it all surf machine. ( not that I have tried any of them,)

Has any one tried the 10" just worry at 150 litres maybe a bit corky, I am looking at a replacement of my nalu 10.le, also wish it had quad option.

Don't be afraid to ask for options. I love my 9'6" Steeze. If I was to go 10' I'd have it thinned out with 5 fins.

Hi Bill
I have the 9'6 Steeze and 10' Style, but never ridden the Style XL

My 9'6 Steeze is much more stable than my 10 x 29" Style.
I have seen a 10' Style XL and it is a pretty big board, so also has a lot more stability than my 29" wide Style...
But I will still guess the 10' Steeze will be more stable than the 10 XL Style.

Surf wise, after comparing dimensions and shapes, I think the 10' Steeze will be the right choice for you because it better matches the type of surfing you have now, since the Steeze has a curvier outline than the Style.

I find my 9'6 Steeze to be a fun, easy board to surf and totally comfortable for me at 99 kg.
It throws around nicely, is fast and is a wave catching machine.
The numbers on the 10' Steeze stay fairly close to my 9'6, so it should give you a lot of performance, as well the stability you seek.

Good luck with that bulging disc..... I hope you heal quickly!
