My first paddle was a Starboard, which i broke in three months.

I then bought a Quickblade, which has lasted 11 years! But it finally broke and now I'm in the market for a new paddle.

Because the QB has served me so well I haven't really kept up with the latest in paddles.

What are you using and what do you recommend?

Quickblade 88 UV, for waves for me, the one with colour in the blade, had the 100 % carbon ones, slightly lighter, but split at join after 12 mths, the addition of glass makes them more durable. Taper shaft, textured shaft, non slip, no wax needed, great carbon handle, light weight, great flex, best blade shape for quick paddling to chip into waves. absolute love them, hard to get in Oz now, cause of exchange rate with USA. Can buy direct from QB, but only worth it if you get a couple.
i bought a spare that I keep in van, in case I snap it or loose it on a big day.
I got mine from the boys at surf FX Goldie (qld) will ship anywhere if they have stock.
Other to mention is black project, great paddle, in stock I believe at SC board sports (Sunshine Coast qld).
Didnt like the starboard paddles, good price, available everywhere just not tapered shaft, too much stress on shoulders. They might have changed the design though since.

Hope this helps
