What's the Kenalu go for DWers?
Yep Mana's are the go Maxeeboy, I have have the 82 & 90 so you are welcome to try one next time we can catch up for a downwinder.
They have a very different feel to the wiki? that I think you are using.
Hey mate,
How do you decide which sized paddle you use, on any given day? Is it based on the distance or conditions??
Thanks,
Scott.
Depends on how my dodgy shoulder is feeling.
I started out with the 82 because I was using a 84 Konihi but the 82 just felt tiny and I thought my shoulder issues were behind me so then ordered a 90, mainly for downwinding.
I was loving the 90 and was going faster than I ever have on my local run, I was absolutely loving it, I seemed to be able to pull myself on to every bump, I was doing heaps of k's each week (to many) then only days before The Doctor I started feeling shoulder pain again.
I persisted and did The Docter, the KOTC the following week I had to dose up on voltaren it was that sore.
I pretty much had a couple of months off after that and my shoulder feels ok again now but I will be mainly using my 82 ,the 90 will only come out for the odd Downwinder, I know I am faster with it but at a cost.
P.S. I am well into my 50's.
If I was younger and knew my shoulder could handle it I would use the 90 all the time on downwinders and I am hoping if I take it easy for a while I might be able too.
Flat, distance it's always going to be the 82 for me.
