I suppose the 9.7might be too big for me in waves but im not sûr so, may be the 9.2should be better ?

I am approx 90kg and ride the 9'2, it can be a little bit unstable at my weight if it gets choppy but I am very happy with my choice.

< That's it I am on in my pic.

For you at 73kg I would recommend the 9'2.

9'2" will be easy, I'm the same weight as you and ride the 8'7" don't have any problems with stability, can't recommend the stungun highly enough.

One more for the 8'7... Is the right size for your weight.
You have to consider the volume! 110 liters is 1,5 times your weight so still quite easy.
After few months I'm moving to the 8'2 and I'm the same weight as you.

I surf the 8.2 stun gun and also have the 8.7 you will be good on the 9.2 as I am 75k . Go short and do the work I say, you will get fitter and you can always go up. Boj

Hi I have a Jimmy lewis 8' 7" Kwad and very happy with it.

It mostly works for me stability and performance wise with me at 75 kg and not so young.

What size Stun Gun would be a good move and what benefits would there be for a slow learner.

Very interested in comments from guys that have had the Kwad.

Many thanks to everybody !!
it seems that for my weight the 9.2 should be better , I had tried a 9.7 but only on flat water, it was incredibly stable, and now, I am moving to the 9.2 but I want to try it, even on flat water
I am not young, one year sup practice but in good physical condition after 20 years in waterski national competition, I stopped that for Sup and I love that !
Next week, I will try one 9.2 and if its OK, I will order it !!! and post some feedback

Zac, try to test the SG 8'7 for your weight is still the best option..

War, the SG 8'7 is very very similar to the Kwad as stability and easy of paddling.
What you get in mush more speed on the face of a wave and the capacity of surf in bigger waves. Over head Up. Kwad can be turn tighter.

It doesn't make much sense to own both boards together but the SG is a step up in performance. If you SUP in on shore small waves then there is no need to upgrade.

sorry for jumping in on this topic , but I'm a jl fan myself ,so a question to bali kite sup I have a 8'7 kwad ,and I'm looking at the 8'7 sg as a big wave board is there more rocker on the sg , I've found the kwad to be a bit tricky in the hollow stuff , your thoughts would be helpful since you have both boards and lots of different wave conditions

I'm sure Jankie will get back to you and he has had more experience with both of the boards.
I have surfed the kwad a few times and own a 9'2 SG, I don't think there is much difference in the rocker at all, there may be a little bit more in the SG but they are fairly similar I believe.
The main difference is in the nose and tail width, the SG is not as wide in the tail so can handle hollower waves better for sure IMO.

I actually pretty much replied on my last comment!
SG have more nose rocker and with pin tail handle better bigger, faster and hollow waves.

For bigger stuff the Mano is still hard to beat as been narrower handle the best the bigger waves (one and half over head +).

For that reason I'm getting a Baby Bomb (the JL big wave gun) for those double over head days to go with my Stun Gun.

Bye Jankie
