Any reviews on the Jimmy Lewis WW 81"

I know a chap who surfs the 8 5 version.....loves it. He us d to surf the 9 2 Stun Gun but changed to WW. Says it is really light, thinned out and fast...and has more stability.

Really good board for small to medium waves (up to head and a half). Carbon version is worth the extra dollars.

Amazing speed down the line and the rocker allows you to go top to bottom easily. Rails are comparatively thin compared to similar dimensioned production boards. Works well as a 5 fin.

Full deck grip is weird but it nose rides yep wtf. Really fun board.

Hilly....anything you have surfed before that you can compare it to? Are you a big/small lad?

Since 2007 I have had Naish, Starboard, PSH and JL sups. Most have surfed like sups being slow to turn on smaller waves. The WW is different in that it really reacts quickly to your input, keeping the overall width down to 30 helps. It is like a refined version of a fish surfboard.

I prefer the 9 2 stun gun in bigger waves.

Usually a k offshore on my own after driving from 1.5 to 14 hours. I don't share well.

I should have asked Hilly, can you give a wee comparison with the 9 2 Stun Gun? Stability, speed, turning and all round versatility? Thanks.looking at both these boards.

This is what jimmy has to say about these

" The World Wide boards are shorter in general than the Stun Guns. That's the difference, mainly. Although the tail block is a swallow, the tail in general is a little pulled. They're not meant to replace the Stun Gun. They're just an addition to the line. They're for riders who want something a little shorter and possibly more forgiving than the Stun Guns. They are a little more volume as far as the similar sizes go (8'1" World Wide is 112 liters and the 8'2" Stun Gun is 99 liters) but they ARE high performance boards, just like the Stun Guns.

Stability similar, speed WW wins on small waves but stungun not bad, WW turns way faster on small waves stungun better on larger waves, stungun marginally more versatile due to large wave performance. Both very good boards.

Of course...I forgot to ask about the rocker line on the Stun Gun and WW.....take it the WW is a little flatter? Most of my waves are pretty weak and head high sometimes bigger.

There's a 7 9 and a 9 3 WW in production too.

Now - who has paddled both the 8 9 and the 8 5?

I've spent time on both the 8'9" and the 8'5" World Wides.

Started out with the 8'9" in Carbon. Surfed very nice but the 140-plus liters proved to be way too much float for my 90 kg's in a board with this plan shape.

After spending a little time on a friend's 8'5" WW, I decided to go with the 8'5" for myself.

The 8'5" WW is the closest thing to real short board slashy throw-around fast n' loose performance that I've ever experienced on a SUP. What I'm giving up in stability going with the smaller board is well worth the trade off. I'll need to spend some more time on it before I can give a proper review, but early returns are very promising!

Ha! Yeah... "curling" my toes is exactly what I do when I'm on the 8'5"!

It's all very much a work in progress being on this small and advanced (for me) performance board.

But I'm having a good time so far.
