Had to start a new thread other one too old supposedly.

Been riding the thing too much obviously.

Had really good waves on it now and cannot fault the board. The all round shape seems to work in everything. I put larger front fins in and smaller more swept back centre fin which makes a huge difference to the turning ability with very tight turns possible on good size waves.

Had no waterproof camera unfortunately on the weekend (have remedied that now) as in solid overhead waves it could easily carve top to bottom and was solid in the steep sections even the odd barrel. Perfected the sweep top turn which really adds a new dimension to the surfing potential of a SUP.

Must say riding forehand on a SUP is an advantage as you can use the paddle in bottom and top turns more easily IMHO.

Would have loved some photos. Will try this weekend.

Cheers Andrew

Andy, what size did u go in the fins?

When i was down at margs, i saw someone had gone a big kangacock single with no thrusters on a JL.

getting better and more comfident on the 10'4 now, went to a spot near a ship wreck the other day for some proper waves.......WOW these boards are special in head high+,,, ....confident feeling paddling down the slope....my drops were a bit wobbly on the bigger ones (maybe technique/ shakey legs)..but once the rail was set in...fangin it DTL, plenty of speed, nice turns, long long rides...

we'll have to catch up 4 a sup soon...
keen for some lano / reefs action.

Done the ship wreck great potential there if not too many surfers.

Big single would be better in double overhead + with serious push so perfect for boaties or bombie.

I am optimising mine for head to double head beachies and reefs near Perth so not the raw power of down south that is why I have gone larger side fins (stock thrusters from a short board) and a 7.5 inch mal single fin.

This setup gives a looser feel (more drive back up the wave) on the waves I ride 90% of the time. For serious stuff I will go back to stock set up unless I get a better single fin.

Not sure what you mean about the last comment there are no waves at Lano.
