Currently ride a great 9'7" by 29" sup - great for surfing - but as I spend 80% of my surf actually paddling and waiting for waves the slightly tippy nature of this great surf sup has worn me down, when I am not on a wave. The board is 145lt.

Is any one riding the 9'6" by 31" JP surf -- 2" WIDER = more stable? It's roughly same lts Is good for paddling between beach bks? That might mean a kilometer or so paddle up and then back surfing different breaks

any other suggestions -- around 9'3" to 9'7" greater than 30" wide around 140 - 150 litres

Hi,
I surf a JP 9'6" x 31" and by what you describe I would say it would suit you to a tee.
BTW, I am 88kgs.

Cheers,
Ken.

Steve you could try the Starboard 9'5 widepoint. I posted a review on it here on about the 9th July and I think the board could suit you

Look over my posts and topics on the JP wide body surfs. They are super stable, super surf and a hell of a lot of fun in all sorts of conditions.

Best of all though, ask for a demo and trust your feet! The feel of a board is what is important.

+1 for trying the JP wide body............I stood up on one last weekend..........which is saying something (the fact that all bar the nose was underwater was also indicating i wasnt going to get many waves - so i promptly swam away)

A couple of mates have them and they are pretty happy

I'll give another nod to the 9'6" JP Surf. It is as good or better than just about any other production SUP in that size range. Super stable and loose on the wave.

I'm 100 kgs and could easily move down to one of the smaller sizes, which I am looking to do.
