just picked up my JP 10'2" fusion and found that it has stickers as art work even the JP logo on the deck is a sticker.
JP's come out of the same factory as Naish and none of the naish boards I've owned (mana hokua) had stickers as art work.it looks cheep for the amount of cash you fork out.

Maybe if JP don't meet there order quota from the factory it would be easier for the factory to hock them off as another brand. No lams to deal with, just repaint to whatever the new buyer wants and sold at 50-70% off original rrp to the public. I'm not saying this is what JP would do but there are other known brands where this occurs.....

What model fusion is it..... I have the ast version and the graphics are painted on. It did come with a thruster setup instead of a single fin though...not that I'm complaining

its the fusion wood sandwich blue/yellow



all that area above the deck grip is stickers even the logo. its an outrage for the price you pay.
yet the bottom of the board is paint it don't make sense.

Bit narrow minded way of looking at it. It could raise issues about JP's quality control. If they can't visually achieve consistency in the finishing materials then whose to say the materials you can't see are of a consistent quality. Would be interesting to see if other Wood Sandwich Fusion's are finished this way.

If I had paid full price for a new JP board I'd be pretty unhappy with a poor finishing job. Also this may affect the resale value of the board and this is important to a lot of people as they improve and down size or upgrade.

My JP is painted not stickered btw, but it's the pro finish.

I bet you anything if your board was a blank with Kelly Slater's signature adorning it you would give no regard to the presence or absence of stickers.

the only stickers on a jp are the yellow and black removable warning stickers. take it back to your jp dealer and get a new one.

if you have no luck with this call me at surf fx and i will get to the bottom of the problem!

the question has to be asked how did it slip though quality control? and why did it happen in the first place? it is crazy to think you have purchased an overpriced board and that is what you got.
Who sold it to you? and what is their explanation? did they inspect the board before you collected it?

I guess you don't always get what you pay for.

Ok, lesson learnt. I guess you can't take a little criticism. I couldn't care less about whether my board was signed by Kelly Slater or my mum, but I fail to see the relevance of your comment. I didn't realise we were trying to solve the worlds problems on this forum. It's incredibly sad that so many kids aren't ever given a chance, but to state that no one blinks an eyelid is also a pretty sad thing.

Of course I'm sure you wouldn't bother taking your iphone or whatever back to the shop if it came in the wrong colour or material because it has no effect on function.

how do you determine its stickers rather than print/paint?
I have repaired a heap of JP SUP and windsurf boards and have seen various methods of applying graphics and many of the best boards have graphics applied on a film, and is is also possible to mistake the 'step' on painted edges as stickers if the paint is thicker.
Are you able to lift a corner of what you think may be a sticker?
Don't stress about it in any case as you will get the rright support from your local JP dealer..every unit is serial ID'd so if its an unusual construction you will be able to find out.
Go out and enjoy your board for now though!!!!

just a quick one
got off the phone with my shop and they are upgrading my board to the gloss finish, so all is good
its not fair by me to waffle on about the stickers on the sandwich finish because jp probably have their reasons for the stickers
and if its a problem they will more than likely change it.
JP make a good board and i also think they have some decent people working for and associated with JP Australia.

with all due respect,a sticker, which i personally don't have a problem with, is not in the same class of defects like the other board complaints.

those complaints were cleared up to every ones satisfaction with the guy running a certain companies replies impressive.

but you seem determined to go on with it which is your right of course, but it just smells of a get back

In all honesty I cant see the sense in your comment here. Can I suggest to you that the vast majority of prospective buyers who have the view to purchase a JP board do so because of board performance attributed to this brand rather than "because of their "out there" colours and designs". This seems such an out of field and audacious response. Colour profile, I contend, has very little to do with choosing a board.
