Need advice on the differences between the Naish 9 X 28.75 Hokua and JP 8 10 x32 pro in regards to wave performance and stability while waiting for a wave. Any other comments welcome.

I have a hokua9.0 and i,m 90kg and I although I love the board in glassy hollow high waves its a bitch in choppy confused water and or wind.
IMO it lacks some volume in the nose where you can lean on making it very tippy.
At the moment i,m saving every dime to replace it with a Starboard wave pro9.0 or to partner it up with a PR8.5 for those not so perfect days (in doubt between that).

Advice required as above as I am considering in changing to the JP from my 9 Hokua.

I have a 8 2 wide JP and love it so thinking the 8 10 JP pro may have the edge

The JP is definitely more stable in the line up!

Warwicki are you referring to the 8'8 Wide body or the 8'10 x 30"?
I am not a fan of the 8'2 Wide body but the 8'10 x 30" JP Pro is one board I regret selling. Super stable for a sub 9' board and it surfs really well. Very quick and easy to catch waves. The weight of the JP Pro's is a huge advantage IMO.

Could you elaborate a bit more on why you don't like the wide body?

Being relatively new to SUP'ing, having a 10' Coreban and looking for a second board, the JP WB Pro or Starboards equivalent would be the options I was looking at.
Would you reccomend the 8'10x30 over the WB - or is it because you are a more experienced surfer, thus being able to handle the Pro better?

I usually - 95% of the time surf in windchopped waves.

As Above I have the 8 2 JP wide and love it, I am 76 kg. It works well for me in most conditions for small mushy to medium beach waves and even better in smooth waves. THE 8 2 X 32 JP IS SUPER STABLE.

Yesterday my 8 10 X 30 JP Pro arrived and should get it in the surf tomorrow so will give you a further comparison soon hopefully.

Had some surf on the JP 8 10 X 30 wave pro. As before I Have JP 8 2 wide Pro so as a comparison firstly the boards are for different purposes however the 8 10 at a similar stated volume to the 8 2, the 8 10 feels less volume and seems to sit lower in the water.

My first surf was in small to medium nice smooth beach break surf, the board felt suitably stable, easy to catch waves and fast through the sections, also easy to turn.

The 8 10 and 8 2 perform as described by JP and the weights are accurate.

Today the surf was very small with onshore wind chop so just to test stability I had a surf and was happy with the stability however the conditions were more suited to the 8 2 X 32 JP
