This new board caught my eye, seeing as I am a Hypernut enthusiast and I feel like it would be quite similar, but lighter. I've not seen any discussions about it around here. What are people's thoughts on the shape?

I saw some better pics of the board, can't recall where...looked pretty advanced to me and not at all easy to ride for your average sup surfer. That was my first impression but could be wrong. The rails looked super low.

The price is enough to put me off

Just to add, I'm a fan of Infinity SUPs..the New Deal board I have is the best board I have surfed but it wasn't a board I hopped onto and could work straight away. It has taken some time and it still catches me out..but easily the best surf sup I've had and the construction is superb. I don't think their boards are super easy except maybe the widespeed model which has a bit more width.

Yeah, I am loving it. Definitely a board to add to my collection once I figure out my longboard plans.

I probably would've got this board if they had it last year, when I was looking for a small wave option. Im curious how this differs from their RNB in terms of what waves it shines in and how it feels. I'd have gotten the RNB but the volume seemed too low in shorter sizes- I love that this one lets you go 7-2 at 100L. I'd love to try this board and the SP25 to see how they compare to my L41 in smaller waves. and a gong of course if they made it across Atlantic

I am loving the shape and the idea of the board. I've not tried it yet, since It won't be available in my part of the world till the middle of the year, but it looks like a snappy and skatey board, much like the Hypernut.

As he says in the video, this is a design for slow waves.
By putting your back foot on the tail you can make snappy turns if you are not going too fast.
Plus the twin fins are very sensitive to the fins used, so I guess you can change a lot the Pod behavior by playing with fins.

This said, the pod tail is still somewhat pulled in and should work in a lot of conditions.
I have a Gong Mob which is the same kind of board (7'6" x 30" x 120L) and can handle Hossegor comfortably up to shoulder high waves. Faster waves and you begin to nurse a bit your turns, but it is doable.

I think the rails and tail will be very thinned out...he tends to taper down to a very thin rail. The side photo in the video still doesn't really show how it domes down. As ever with his boards, so much going on.

Really like that he keeps pushing design a bit.

You may be suffering from sup acquisition syndrome. I wonder if you could demo infinity in SD

I think the tail is pretty thick spiral v especially at the end point. Relative to the rest of the rail it is not a thinned out tail to me just the opposite.

You might be right...but they won't be thick thick if you get my drift. My guess is that there will be volume in the tail but maybe tapered down to the rail edge a bit ..some hidden volume in the middle of the tail. Love to see one in the flesh.

Corran Addison was designing these kind of "wedge" rails, notably in the early days of the Imagine Brand. (pre-2012)
I tried one and it felt strange, the impression of being on an elevated platform.
I am curious to see the (re-)interpretation of this design by Dave.

I'm sure it works very well for what he wants it to do. I'm not a shaper but there are multiple ways to get the same effect in a tail. I like the idea of a dedicated twin.

Haha I just had a work thing come up in SD and was thinking if I go I could maybe demo one of these. But I got the small waves covered with L41 ST.

Tail is different than I thought, interesting.

Bet you that's fun and fast ..too small for me.even the biggest one

Ordered mine today (7'10" x 30" x 125l). The website where I bought it from claimed it was available, but unfortunately I phoned after ordering to make sure I could pick it up tomorrow only to find out they are arriving in the 1st or 2nd week of June and the in stock status was an error on the website.

Bummer. But I've been refreshing this page for months, so a few more weeks won't hurt.

Congratulations on your new purchase. Looks well thick and those fins are just positioned weird. I imagine it'll work well really well on the slow-moving summer slop you get here in Southern California, I just hope it'll work for you in the UK.

No worries. Plenty of slow moving slop here all year. I suspect it's going to be a great groveller.
