The big advantage of the electrics is you have brakes - regenerative braking.
Have to be careful or they throw you off the front though.

But seriously folks...

For us average Joes who only have one board:
My vote goes to the JL Striker 8.5.
For my weight @80 kg it does everything well.
Stable, light, handles all conditions, easy to control & flick around & you can noseride it.
Can easily walk up the front due to the full length deck pad & shape of the nose.

Just seems to have the balance of all dimensions right for me.

The Steeze 8.10 (from my limited experience on my mates board) would be close but it's slightly too much volume for me and needs hexatraction to be able to noseride.
The Steeze has a slight edge on glide speed though but it is about as stable as the Striker even though longer & more volume.
The Striker is ugly but I can forgive it that if it fills my one board quiver.

Very nice mate. And how does she go now that you've had her a while?

Really well in anything over head high. Quite tippy due to pulled in nose and tail but sensational rail to rail at speed.

I give another vote for the sunova speeed 8'10

It's almost my only sup! Well I do have a 9'7" jimmy Lewis kwad but that's mostly for family and friends and really choppy days, the speeed does 90% of the work for me.

Living in the perth metro area and making fairly regular trips down south i find i am either surfing very small crappy waves where I need to milk it or I am surfing solid reef/ bombie waves where I need good speed and control. The speeed does both of these things really well.

I will at some stage fill out the quiver with a short board style sup but I will still probably use the speeed most often

But for me I think the classic 7.4 x 28.5 x 85L Airborn is the best - most fun to ride in all conditions, and is also the lightest, and the strongest. The 7.8 x 27.75 / 27.50 x 96L/95L Naish/s are the second best for everything, and is it just me that thinks that the older boards are better then the newer boards that are being made now these days?:-)

I also agree with Airborn ,one of the best boards for the points ,still got mine on the racks in the garage.,and maybe the starboard 7' 7'' pro @ 90 litres what a great board pity about the price ?

I have three boards in my surf quiver and if it were only one, it would be my longboard-style SUP.
