Just had this shiny shiny 8'9 Hull Ripper just land!.
A little bit of tweaking here and there from the first generation - a little bit more refined all round. Hoping to get the new 9-7 on the water this week!

very schmick. No doubt you will be getting one of these Hilly so let me know when you want to off load it and if I can suggest going for the 8'9 opposed to the 9'7, even better.

Bigman, these new HR's are 'refined' all round and you need to think differently in terms of sizing. The 86WR is a very stable board for its length. The 92Hull Ripper would be closer in stability and would out surf it in the steep stuff for sure. Rail to rail you cant beat the Hull.

We have one out at the moment with a customer who has ridden a few of our boards so I will get some feedback.

I told a mate this afternoon,this could be the last surf I have on my 9.6 hull ripper,hope theres a 8.9 on its way my way via Jungle Surf Tuncurry.

Hey Rodders I rode this board this morning in fat 2-3' waves.

It is 9'7 x 29 3/4" x 4 3/8" 128L
The Gen 2 Hull Rippers are slightly narrower with no real loss of stability (still trying to work that one out)!
Very squirty and a lot more predictable, I was immediately comfortable on this board when I reminded myself to widen my stance and get back on the tail.

I will have this and the 12-6 at the Snowy Comp at Manly this weekend for for demo.

Different strokes, different folks.
They probably take a bit more getting used to than most boards. For those who have bonded, they love them. Especially if you are progressing and want a board that surfs shorter than its length. The new versions are very fine in the rails, nose and tail and are more suited to high performance vertical surfing. The first generation have more glide and suit open faces.
Everyone is different and I can explain the differences when you swing by.
