These are the first adjustables I've seen that are really good.

What's the bet the price is most pleasant in the US and we pay double here.
Good to see more options coming up in the market.
The prices could be lower.
Relatively speaking my new totally handshaped, full carbon fibre 6'6" Dick Van Straalen surfboard cost $1200.
I look at the price of decent carbon fibre paddles and think about the profit margin and the time it takes to make one with the amount of carbon fibre used.
Then again everyone knows there's no money in hand shaping surfboards hence the pop out surfboard/sup phenomenon.

Do they whistle paddling on a windy day? ..

Went to Binks aT Somerton Pk today ,i found they were the Hobie dealers.They had a couple of boards and several paddles,unfortunately no adjustables.The guy was happy to order it in for me,however I would like to know the weight of them before I order one.The guy could not tell me ,looked up the cattledog and still couldn't tell me .We are getting it to replace an adjustable aluminium Naish (old one) which is very weighty for the kids etc.So anyone know the weight or how they compare to the aluminium Naish? eg not much lighter,bout half the weight,that sort of thing. Cheers

Not sure on the exact weight Waxer.
They are two generations ahead of the old Naish and can't be compared.
Somewhere between a fraction of the weight of the old naish and 'Jeeze! that's light' I reckon.
They are as light as many one piece quality paddles.
I'll do a comparisson soon.

Hi Waxer, I just weighed the Hobie Stretch on our Startrack Express scale. It only shows 1 decimal place so is rounded off to the nearest 100 grams and it weighed in at 0.9kgs or 900 grams. I do not have weights on any other adjustable paddles, sorry.

Thanks Gords, I'll weigh the Naish adjustable(seems heavy) and work out if it's worth ordering the Hobie, you said "Stretch", guess that's the model...Cheers

Weighed the Naish adjustable, my scale indicates 1.2 kgs.It always feels like there is water in it ,but there isn't.
