I've heard nothing but good reports about these. They look too flexy in the tail to me, but the feedback has been great (and besides, what would I know anyway!).

I think the overall feedback (in a nutshell) was;
1 - really fast off the bottom and top, in clean waves, with the flex tail giving amazing spring and projection/acceleration off the bottom and top.
2 - I think someone said they are not very good in messy and bumpy surf

But it form part of the "puzzle", regarding stringers v's no stringers. Notice the stinger formation also.

Bush Rat did a similar type of thing but these look alot better ie constuction and the way the tail flexes.

I have a couple of Bushrat flextails. A 5’10 fish and 6’5 thruster. They are beautifully made boards and Jed puts allot of work into them.

In a surfboard, the flex has its goods and bads. The reverse camber flex that Bushrat designs into his makes for a very quick board. But you do loose a bit in maneuverability

Had a chat to Jed at the Fish Fry and he was keen to make a SUP using a flex tail but he has no experience with epoxy over polystyrene and they would be too heavy in standard surfboard construction.

Showed then to Dale at DC and he was game to have a go at making a flextail SUP for me, but we got side tracked into making something else and didn’t try the flextail.

I think the concept has considerable potential for a SUP being able to straighten out the rocker, easier paddling, lots of speed, but reasonable turning. Getting the size and flex rate of the tail would take considerable R and D though

Husq, I didn't throw you a red thumb, but if you use your imagination like "bjhjames", you can explore the concepts into custom SUP.
