This would mean a heavy (at least, not too light) glass fiber paddle.
Carbon is stronger, more expensive, but less durable (sensitive to heat and hard impacts).
Quality of the carbon weave and construction (pre-preg for instance have better strength to weight ratio) is very important, too.
Beware, some brands call a "carbon paddle" paddles with only 5% carbon. boardboy mentioned one that at 750g cannot be 100% carbon, unless being as stiff as a mineshaft (and much more expensive).
A Compromise like 20% carbon and 80% glass could be good for you. Glass should be on the outside to protect from impacts.
