My 2013 Allwave has suddenly had an attack of the measles or something and I need advice please!
See photo - hopefully you can see the bubbling effect I've got.
It is just on one side of the board and obviously has something to do with the CURVE board sling I keep it in.
First noticed it this morning in surf - don't think it was there Tuesday when out in surf.
I have had this board for nearly 12 months now and use it in the surf a lot (average about 8 hours a week)


The area where the bubbles have appeared is where the board sits (within the sling) on the rack in my garage.
Is it some sort of chemical reaction or something?
Can anyone suggest how I can repair this?
I assume I'll have to sand it down and repaint somehow?
Any idea where to get paint.

Ridden hard and put away wet?

This is osmosis, the result of having the board kept in moisture (wet board bag, or in your case, a wet sling keeping the moisture close to the board).

The bubbles are water trapped under the paint. Pick them with a needle (or just sand & repaint)

See for instance on the JL site: Important! Do not store your board in a wet board bag ? dry it out before leaving it in a bag for any length of time to avoid paint blisters from osmosis and mold (not to mention odors). Blisters in the paint on your board are always due to improper storage and are not covered under warranty.

Thanks for answers guys - I realise now that it's my fault.
And will store it out of the sling in future
But I need advice as to how to fix it - I'm a complete novice here
eg. do I just sand it down and repaint the area effected?
And where do I get hold of the paint - we don't exactly have a lot of shops here in Agnes Water.
Last time I asked Grom he had nothing to help
I've googled about it and see all sorts of advice like using cans of car touch up paint etc - but really want to be sure to do it properly - it wasn't a cheap board and is only just 12 months old

I've never had to deal with it but apparently the bubbles will diminish (not disappear completely) if looked after (i.e. stored dry)

Yep, I will just keep it dry.
If they don't disappear, try to pierce them with a needle and press them
