Hi, any of you out there surfing a Stylemaster? I can get a reasonable deal on one. I'm about 95 kg with wettie, surfed a good few years and like the longer boards.

I have the 10 x 30.5 x 145 litres. It's my first board. I'm 68kg, 170cm and 66 years old and last stood up on a surf board in the 1970's. I've had it for about six months and have had a lot of fun. It's a good flat water paddler and I've had it out in small surf once or twice a week. For me I think it is a very good first board. It took me a while to realise how much I needed to move up and down the board to catch waves and turn the board but it's been a lot of fun leaning. It is stable in chop, has plenty of glide and catches small fat waves pretty well. I don't think it likes steep hollow take-offs. At least not at my skill level. Construction seems ok but the paint will chip easily. Tape the rails. I surf mine as a single fin with a bigger fin than the one that comes with the board. I think that even if I bought a more performance oriented board I would keep the Stylemaster.

I read they have changed the rocker line on it..does anyone know if they have increased the rocker or flattened it?

Thanks.I've been through quite a few boards but keep coming back to the longer ones. They are more of a handful in steeper waves but I'm usually surfing waist to head high at most. I'd love one of the new Sunova Revolution boards as they look quite a different design but the price is too much.I can get something that will do the job nicely at much lower ??s

Not sure about the rocker line. Mine is the latest iteration and it's pretty flat. I believe the older models had a domed deck. Deck on mine is flat. There are reviews on Supboarder for the 10x28.5.

I have the old model 10 size, love it..overall flat rocker , not a performance board as you have to be way at the back on steep waves, but ..it start on a nothing wave and is a ton of fun for small or mushy waves or for cruising. For record im 95 kgs 58 years old and not a pro..
the rails are quite refined for a non performance board,.

A one quiver board probably not but as a complement to other more performance boards.

Thanks, that's very useful. I came to the conclusion it's probs too flat in the nose for what I need. They've actually flattened out the nose a bit and improved the tail kick a little.

I have the 10x30 135L 2016 wood veneer It is trad longboard style. I use it mostly for windsup in waves. Has been thru the ringer and mast foot fitting never popped out. Indestructible!! For performance I have JP longboard.

After more thought I opted for the Stylemaster..the reviews are too good to pass it by and reckon it will do nicely for smaller days. Nice rails on it. The Kalama would have been top pick but getting one to the UK would cost a wee fortune in shipping/customs. Once they have a dealer in the UK it is one to consider in the future.
