Hope to hear your thought regarding the Stylemaster 9'0 vs 10'0.

I was looking to get the 9'0 but a friend told me that the 10'0 is much much much better while the 9'0 is very slow and disappointing...

I personally thinks that 10'0 is too long but don't want to get the 9'0 if it's not that great.

On the other hand I was looking also at the RRD Longsup 9'4 and it's looks amazing! any one tried it?

I'm currently surfing Naish Nalu 9'0" x 26 ?" x 4", 120L SINGLE FIN.
and I love it!!!

I'm 1.85 m on 95kg.

The reason for making the switch is that my board is from 2010 the contraction is very heavy and I would like to have a less heavy board...

BTW - I don't have access to exotic brands like Deep or SMIK or others.. we have only the brand names and I don't like the Longboard from Starboard.

I can only give you my thoughts on the 10' Stylemaster. Originally I thought I was buying the 9 as I normally surfed boards 8'5 to 8'0 around 105l but they didn't have it. So I thought ok I will try the 10. I originally bought the base model but on surfing it I found I really liked it. It is easy to ride and it handles poor to good surf really well. I liked it so much I bought the bamboo edition that was on sale and sold my other one. I have had many sups for the last 10 years and I rate this one as a keeper. The rails are narrow and the board can turn hard also it can easily catch a bump.
I think that it is well worth having one of these boards in your quiver. The Fanatic is a keeper. I can only recommend a 10' performance sup. I am sure Sunova, Infinity, Starboard etc are all good boards.
They even go pretty well in flat water.

I surfed the 9' Fanatic Stylemaster for a year. Great long board style sup. I swapped with a mate who was on a 10' Smik Style Lord one day in and I couldn't wait to get the 9' stylemaster back and he wouldn't give it back. I don't know if it was the fact that it was 10' vs 9' or the different boards (probably both) but the Fanatic a was much better performer. I will say though that I'm not into the big boards ..... I actually bought a Blue Planet 10 footer going on the bigger board vibe that was going round but I never liked it. For me 10' is just a big barge. Going on the board you are currently on I would say you'd be better to go 9'. Anyway, it's all personal preference in the end isn't it. I can tell you that in that type of board I have owned a 9' Laird surfer, a 9' fanatic stylemaster and an 8"11 JL Striker (among too many other boards). The Laird and the Stylemaster were the best in the surf for me but the build and lightness of the Fanatic made it the best overall. If you look at my photo that's me on the Fanatic so yes great in big waves, fun in small waves, good glide, very stable. I could take it out in pretty much any surfable conditions.

Have the 8 11 striker and would be interested in knowing how it compares to the other two.

Unless you know where one is they don't make the 9.0 Stylemaster any more.

BTW go for a Smik 9.2 Hipster Longboard. I've only ridden the 10 ft Stylemaster and it was a blast but the Smik Hipster Longboard is way better. In full disclosure I do have the Smik. The wave riding is simply brilliant.

I agree with Mark ,I have ridden almost every longboard sup yet! .the stylemaster 10,was ok ,but very unstable for 30 wide in the photo shows why IMO the roll on the deck to very fine rails,yeh you can get used to it but for me the board did not warrant the time ,I had the pure version and the deck compressed after 3 surfs.Currently riding a Smik hipster twin longboard 10 ,to big for me @ 75 kg,but will be going down to 9.0 when I sell it ,as the build quality is superb!.Im not connected to Smik ,but I like my boards to last / resale,ect,it won't belong before other brands have twins in their range,as they go so well

I'm glad you mentioned the stability of the Stylemaster 10'. I thought it was just me having a bad day. I was surprised at how unstable it was for the dimensions. It's not dramatically bad or anything but definitely a factor if your local wave has less than ideal conditions. Also agree re the deck compression. The one I rode had some compression even though the person who normally used it was only light.

The 10' Stylemaster is in my view very stable. Don't be put off it and it doesn't turn slow. Give it a go.

They have new ones out.....now 10ft x 30.5. Flatter deck too so guess they took on board some stability comments. Looks good.

Looked at one yesterday ,flatter deck and fuller rails/ construction the same!

I have a 10 stylemaster, I think stability is good, you need to stand with feet closer together. I've used it for 2yrs in lots of conditions, even flat water paddling is ok.
The thing I don't like is it chips far to easy, even with rail tape and paddle protection. Mine was a 2017 I think, bamboo deck.

Have just got a Smik 9'2" hipster twin longboard but not tried it yet, fancied a higher performance longboard.

Here is my two cents, purchased the 2019 Stylemaster 10 x 30 last year. Loved the rail design and the way it surfed. Very responsive fast paddler with good rail to rail transition ( Im 95 kg .... on a good day) .......but. The deck collapsed within 4 months, chipped very easy and was not very durable. The 2019's were a very light weight construction and nearly 1.5 kg lighter than the competition. I took the board back and was refunded under warranty due to build
concerns and the product not fit for the purpose intended. Purchased the Smik Stylelord, built like a brick **** house, very durable very responsive but heavy compared to the Sylemaster....... but, the Stylemaster surfed as good and if not better in smaller longboard style conditions and paddle quicker for my weight compared to the Smik. The new Stylemaster model is heavier than the 2019 version 10 x 30 v 2020 10 x 30.5 by more than a 1 kg, if they have addressed their quality / durability and deck issues with more glass under the feet it should be a good thing........would I buy one?!?......yes after a demo to see if the deck collapsed, the deck impressions appeared straight away on the 2019 board I had, but I will try the 2020 version , I will also keep the Stylelord as I have had it for over a year and the board is holding up fine, the deck pad on the Stylelord is like concrete sand paper. Not overly comfortable but durable.

I had the 2018 10x30 at 80kg 5'6" beginner to intermediate. I like the board and surprisingly surfs well on reef breaks and probably something to do with those thin rails. I didn't keep the board long enough to know the long term construction feedback. I reckon the 9' size would've been better for me and I heard its a nice board but rider's weight might be an issue.

They come in 2 builds. Maybe the pure not so tough? I had the bamboo which was very light and strong, top quality construction. Surfed it for a year and only a few rail chips to show for it.

For your weight I would try the 10 ft Stylemaster, especially if you like to walk the board (or even start to learn to). if you want more performance go the narrower option, I like the 30inch models due to the chop we get at our local break and the extra stability the wider model will offer, it will depend on what type of wave you want to surf. Both will turn on the rail if your over 90 kegs. Enjoy!!!

Mick would the 9,0 fanatic stylemaster go ok at point and haystacks drainos ocean addics are selling a 2nd hand one I'm thinking about buying it but I think 1,000 is a bit rich Jason.

Hey Jason, I surfed the point and haystacks on it all the time. Perfect for those fat waves. Just be aware they dont have a flat deck, which you get used to quickly but I prefer flat. Also mine was bamboo construction which was light and strong. Sounds like there were problems with the pure. Also I reckon the hipster twin longboards would be better but obviously dearer.
