I just got my new HRS pro wave today. It seems that all my toys have arrived at the same time :-) and I will be sorted for this spring/summer here in New Zealand. I got it from the local dealer at Watercooled Sports, Dunedin. www.watercooled.co.nz/

I had been using an 9'6 Allwave and decided to upgrade to a ProWave 9'6. Here are some shots showing hull shape etc. The weight is ??? I need to try and weigh somehow just to know how much. Definitely is lighter than the all wave.
The finish looks smart and I like the red and white graphics. The new ledge handle will be appreciated by my arm. The fins look nice and seem to fit ok. I like the flat deck and the bow shape and the rocker at the back of the board. I am going to Karitane tomorrow to give it a go.

I think the length is measured short but I got it at around 2.85 or 9.35 or 9'4". To get 9'6" its needs to be 2.89. I thought it was supposed to be a 9'6" and I will double check my measurement technique. I measured in a straight line from bow to stern. I hope its is 153 litres as specified but it looks like its pretty think thru middle and its is 31" wide.

Great looking board Brusier. I reckon that model would be just about the best around for the right meld of glide, stability (once you get used to it) and performance in the surf. BTW... For the length, I believe you have to measure along the curve of the rocker - that may find you the missing cms.... Anyway, enjoy! Thanks for posting - looking forward to future instalments!

Hey Bruiser
Thanks for the pics that compare it to your Allwave... being very familiar with the Allwaves, it puts it in a nice perspective.

Looks like a great board.... please let us know the weight of your new Pro

I am looking forward to your comp to the Allwave... stability, paddling etc... I am sure the performance will blow you away!.

I had my first surf today. It was only small 2ft to 3 ft waves so it gave me a chance to try it out Before hitting the big southern swells.
Stability was great, very easy to just jump on an paddle out through break. It felt good when trying to get on wave and I felt I could really paddle hard without it turning. Once on wave it was very fast and responsive.

Cf to Allwave it was a quicker to pivot turn and faster once on wave. Stability was fine but Allwave a lot easier. No problems for me and I weigh 95kgs and about 5'10" , short and stocky. It just feels more surfy or more responsive to the paddle and changes in positioning.

So a good first paddle and I think this board is going to get a lot of use. So very happy with my new Prowave.

When you see the prowave in your pics you can see how the new Allwave has been brought closer to it in design....just beefier and not as pulled in nose and tail.

Yes, they had the Allwave at Watercooled and they look very similar ie Allwave cf Prowave. The Prowave has five future fin boxes cf Allwave has only 2 and std centre fin box . I just wanted smaller volume of 153 lts but still a bit of waterline length so that why got the Pro Wave. I think it's going to be perfect for me. I can't wait for some nice swells for the next surf.

ok, so its not overall length. What is the actual terminology for this measurement?

For boats,
LOA length over all is bow to stern,

keel length is from bow along the keel to the transom,

and then there is manufacture length which some US boat builder measure the gunnel's length ( makes the boat appear longer)
