I'm looking at getting one of these ... I would be interested in hearing people's thought on this board.

I previously had the 8'11 allwave but want to get something a bit more performance orientated.

Cheers

If you have had an allwave before... you know what kind of quality you are looking at.. and the surfability is good even in the 8'11", however, the 8'5" probably wont be too much difference after your first couple of sessions... and wondering if you should consider the 8'3" first up - or even a prowave, if its performance you are looking for. As long as you got enough volume to float you - and you are happy to work towards improving your balance - go the 8'4" prowave - if not the larger 8"9"..But.. always advised to get rides when and where you can...

I looked at the 8'3 but I'm a bit over the suggested weight range. The 8'11 was great to surf on but I found it a bit much when trying to turn in the beach breaks which I prefer to surf.

The 8'5" is dramatically different to the 8'11" shape. Big step up in performance over the previous 8'6" AllWave and you'll love it as a next step down.

Almost the same dimensions as the 8'3" just a wee bit thicker to float bigger guys easier.

Try it of course if you can but goes very nicely.

Sam.

That's what I was thinking.... at 88kgs I think the 8'3 would be a bit small for me

If you are around Brisbane we have the 8'5" in demo to try for yourself.
