I see these boards in the shops now. I have to drive 3 hours to reach the nearest outlet. I rang the guy and he can do the 2013 8'10" Allwave about $500 cheaper than the 2014 8'11" model. I'd love to hear some thoughts on the new vs old boards and any feedback at all on the 2014 models
Not sure about the 2013 Allwave..... but I love my 2014 8'11. The board is very stable and catches and rides waves with ease.
I have surfed it in choppy 1 ft much up to head high waves and found it handled both well. Yes, as others would agree there are better performance boards out there but for me it is about getting away from work etc and having some time to relax and enjoy why I work so hard in the first place.
Hey mate I ride a fanatic 8"6 allwave..really enjoy it. Looking at changing fins to give it a more performance feel. That's the advice I've been given from a few people on here. Good in all conditions..surfs really well..rails are more boxy then im use too but still does what I want it to..ctach waves paddle easy and turns well. Cheers hope that helps
Just took delivery of my 8'11" today. I strangely then developed a mystery illness and had to leave work early....
I felt much better after a couple of hours in the surf though. Its a really nice board. Exactly the compramise between user friendly and performance features i wanted.
For 2014 they have pulled the nose in, dropped the rails and changed to a squash tail. so its just got a few more on wave performance features.
If you are after a board that is easy to paddle but will still perform then I would spend the extra $ on the 2014. Also look at the new Naish Hokua 32LE and the 2014 Mana.
