Any tips for a handle that keeps coming loose?
I use 5 minute epoxy but everyone often I have to pull it apart and re do it. Its not left in any sort of heat really weird and annoying as its never happened on other paddles.
What's the joint clearance? If there's too much, it will crack out. You need to add a filler like microspheres.
That could be a plausible explanation. It is a pretty easy fit to get in there. Would make sense especially when it's under load.
I have it apart again at the moment as I was going to try the super strength epoxy. Maybe I'm just due for a replacement T handle as I did give it a sand last time to get glue off.
You can give the inside of the shaft and handle a quick sand to clean off the old glue residue. Don't overdo it though.
Make sure you put heaps of glue inside the shaft and then put the handle in, tape around the join and put a piece of tape over the handle and down the shaft as the epoxy will heat and try to push the handle out of the shaft.
Stand the blade upside down and leave to dry. The glue will run down till fill the space between the 2 surfaces.
Too easy.
