I'm also 95kgs.. I have the new 9'5" Mana and the new 9'1" Hokua.. I think if I had to pick one it would be the new Mana.

If you like to surf like a short boarder in sucky beach breaks I think the Hokua might be the better choice.

Try and demo both and see what you think.

also does anyone get out now around shoreham/flinders way ....I'm find motivation and a 45 minute drive killing the enthusiasm?????

We're down that way all the time.. and my 9'5'' Mana is the Alana GS version.. If you are the type that falls onto their board a lot the GX is a stronger construction.. but GS surfs the same and costs a fair bit less.

I have a similar dilemma, 8'5" Mana or 9'0 Hokua? As I am just under 70kg, two different shop people have advised the Hokua for its turning ability. I will be surfing mainly Northern Beaches.

I am 76 kg have 9 Hokua 2013 and love it however fin selection and position is critical.

To me for the quad set up the space between the front and rear fins is a bit to much so small fins particularly at the back is best.

Tri fin set up medium low flex side fins with the standard centre fin positioned well forward is the best.

I have Surfed the 8 10 Mana and is not for me.

Have the 8.5 mana, 9 hokua and now 8.3x32 at shortarse85k and after 7 years practice i recommend ..... you need at 70kg if you want naish the 8.5 mana as your styling small wave mal styler its fast and trims nose backto thetail carve fits into head high waves. Short boards are the go as they dont catch t outside rail off the lip reos as you do. Found the 9 less stable than t 8.5mana in back to back but the 9 is better in overhead plus. That 8.5 is as light as if you cant afford carbon but a bit soft as usual around the footprints.
