Crikey for the hype over these you would think there are a few owners ..

Or maybe no one wants to admit there size mistakes

Im 73 kg, first Had a 82 x 29.5 x 4 at 102 litres, got too comfortable with it within a fortnight so went down to 7.10 x 27.5 x 4 at 94 litres. Took me a couple of months with this one but am now loving it... I have still kept the 8,2 tho....

What were you riding before the 8'2"? I'm your weight and thinking of getting one of these. I'm just worried about getting something too small and regretting it.

I was on a JP 8.2 widebody (8.2 x 32 x 4 @124 litres)...I pretty much use the 7,10 as my everyday board now but still get the 8.2 Deep out if its rough. My mate has an 8 x 28 x 4 and he's a couple of kilos lighter, its his only and everyday board. I guess it comes down to the conditions you surf in, i like beachbreaks so the 7.10 is ideal, its not however great on spilling soft pointbreaks, i have a 10.1 deep for them waves

73 kg? Lucky bugger.
Had the 10' rhinochaser out this morning. Fantastic. Starting to throw the big girl around.
Got a 10' x 28.5" coming, can't wait. Maybe see you in next year's comp? David vs Goliath. Haha.

Haha, that's the same specs as my 10.1.. 28.5 wide, they turn so well off the tail!!... Last weekends HIF Comp was great, point didn't do much but the beach break was great!!, esp for us goofy footers!!

Tempting but think it maybe a struggle
I was looking at going down to the jp 8,6 and I think the Jackson close 8,4 is even more of a steep down

28,1/4 and 110 litres seems a big leap from a 8,10 jp surf

I think even the 8,6 jp maybe even more stable than the 8,4 JC

1,1/4 inches from your normal stability of 30 is a big game changer

The sensible choice is the 8,8 but being pretty much the same board as my current jp 8,10 2015 it's reAly only replacing new for used .

The 8,4 JC seems a bit small for 90kg or a least a struggle in anything but very clean conditions .

Now if there was a stock board in between the both then this may well be a magic board.
Can't wait for customs as I normally sell one to fund the next

I rode the 8'8" when I was 106kgs and now down to 96Kgs. If I was 90kgs (hopefully soon!) I will be going a lot smaller and much less in the Litres. I took the 8'2" Fanatic Stubby (105 ltrs) out for a test spin yesterday. I could handle it on a nice glassy day but it is probably 5+ litres shy of the right size for me. Maybe in 6 months time!

Bit late to the party here but I have an 8'1" JC and I'm about 85kg. Great board. Started off as the perfect volume but either I've stacked on a bit, the board has compressed a bit or now it's winter there's a bit of extra weight with wetsuit etc - or maybe a bit of all of the above. As such I'm sitting a bit lower in the water than I'd like now and although it still rips it kind of sucks on choppy days waiting out the back or paddling out anywhere offshore. I'd probably go a touch bigger next time to account for this - maybe 8'2" or 8'3".
