Hi Everyone,
I tried paddle boarding for the first time on Friday and loved it! I would love any advice anyone has for a good board to buy.
I'm 5'3", 70 kgs female. I used a fanatic fly 10' and found it great. I was thinking of an all rounder? I cant surf yet , but do live near a surf beach and would like the option to ride small waves and just go on long paddles too.

Brands I am interested in are Fanatic Pure, Nsp, Starbord, ATX, probably in the 10' range.
Also would a Naish mana 10' be suitable?
Or if anyone has an other suggestions?

I will love any advice and info, Cheers, Frieda

Hi Freda.. Re the 10' Mana.. At your height and weight I think this is too big a board for you..

I don't know much about the other brands but I do know the Naish range well.. I'd be suggesting the 9'5" Mana or the 10'6" Nalu.. with the 9'5" being a much better surfing board.. and the 10'6" being a better alrounder..

... or something similar in the other brands.. Welcome to sup and to SeaBreeze..

btw.. A good friend who's your height and weight recently bought the 9'5" Mana.. and she can be seen in this vid paddling it.. She's the girl in the wetsuit and her 9'5" Mana has the wood grain deck.. You can see how well it floats her.. The 10' Mana is more suitable for someone much heavier than you.. but it would still work very well for you.. Out of the water you will notice the biggest difference between the two with the 9'5" being much lighter and easier to lift and carry.. Even the longer 10'6" Nalu is lighter and easier to carry than the shorter 10' Mana.. Demo first if you can.

My favourite in the Starboard All Round range is the 10'5" Drive but you could also consider the 9'8" Element. Both very surf-able but also good for paddling in the flat. They are available in various finishes so you have a range of price points depending on your budget. The wood finish is my favourite in both of these boards and weighs around 10-10.5kg so it's not too heavy for getting on an off the car - always an important consideration.
