Have a burred grub screw in my naish x32 Does anyone know if these are just the standard sized thread as found with fcs screws ( i know futures are different sized threads). Cheers

Pretty sure Naish have the standard FCS. I thought Futures had the same thread too - just longer?

In the Netherlands Kite shops have screws with oversized thread, so maybe they have them in Australia to.

The fcs and futures are slightly different. I get mine out with the fcs tool. Inside is a little bit that has a spiral look to it. Every time I have a stripped thread I have used it, and it worked. Tried super glue and resin a key in but never worked. Give it a go and see :)

Borrow or buy a thread gauge, find out for sure.

It is actually quite easy to re-thread a FCS hole (or a future one I guess). See:

www.gong-galaxy.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=32&t=3359

key points:
- create a rough surface before applying resin (e.g. rethread with a bigger tap, scratch it with a tool, ..)
- resin with charges: miscrospheres, cut fiberglass, fillers, ... to have the end result as hard as possible
- let it harden as much as possible: remember that epoxy hardens as much at 40C in one hour than at 20C in one week. I use a desk lamp above the repair once hard to keep it at 40C to cure it
- take your time to drill. Use progressive sizes drills
