Hello Seabreezers, my first post in this forum.
I really need some help in change my current Red Paddle 10.8" MEGA of 2012.

A little info about me, weigth 100kg/220 pounds and 182cm/5,9", im a intermediate paddle boarder.

I'm paddling here in Spain in some smooth bays of the mediterranean sea and sometimes lakes (1 or two times year).

Im not interested in take waves, my first use is for trips 3 or 4 miles and want to have more speed that with my current MEGA.

My current board is slow and too big (36" width), i'm thinking in something like de Red Paddle 12,6 SPORT, with the RSS battons for rigidity, but i have fear about stability, because is a great change go from current 36" to narrow 30".

What do you think about the change ?

Excuse my broken English guys

Regards from Spain

hola!

I am significantly heavier and taller than you (and I have balance problems) - I own the 12'6 x 30" Red Air Race with RSS from a couple of years ago (2012/13 i think) and find it very stable and forgiving - I prefer it over my other boards in bumpy water because of its stability. I have also paddled the big 10'8 Mega a few times.

I expect you will find the 12'6 very comfortable and surprisingly stiff and fast at full inflation. You will notice the step-down in width from 36" but maybe only the first couple of times out. You will be very happy with the 12'6 for the uses you describe.

Can't go wrong with the Red Paddle 12,6 !!! Great boards the rss battens are the best and you can feel the difference. Quality is great too
