Board advice

Hi all,
I currently have an inflatable Honu 9'8 wave SUP (220l). I can catch small waves but feel limited by the size, volume etc. of the board. I want to progress and buy a better board. I am very light, around 55kg so I am guessing I don't need heaps of volume. I am also a windsurfer and have decent balance.

I found a Fanatic Allwave 8'2" x 30 inches, 120L.

Do you think it is too small for somebody with my weight and level (novice)?

It's a big volume drop from 220L to 120L. The first few sessions will challenge you, it will feel like starting again and you'll be knackered. Regardless, 120L is still a big board for your weight and the Allwave is a good mix of stability & performance. As long as you're in the water regularly enough I think that board is a good choice.

At your weight you should be able to have a tea party with the Mad Hatter on such a big board after a few practice sessions. Good luck with your progression.
