theres plent of boards that would suit you, if you like the feel of a mini mal when surfing maybe something like the 10 foot naish mana, 10'6 or 11'4 nalu, all of these boards will surf resonabley well for what you want them in, they will also paddle well in flat water, make sure you buy a good paddle, the difference will be noticable between a cheapy and it will last if you take care of it, if you can head down to your local store and have a chat with some of the guys there and see what they would recomend, and if they have demo boards take them for a spin, just demo as many boards as you can, that way you will get an idea of what you like, everyone can tell you what hey like, but it doesn't mean you'll like it, just demo as many boards as you can

There's so many good boards out there to choose from now.. The 10' Naish Mana, 10'5" Starboard WidePoint.. or the 10' Coreban Ez would be perect boards for what you're after IMO

I agree with DJ... any of those will be sweet... and get out and Demo Demo Demo. We now have so much access to bloody solid starter or mid-level boards... I rate the Naish Mana range and the Starboards (Whopper, Drive or the new Wide Point - which I believe is a cracker). I straight up bought a 2011 Whopper in December last year and just can not bring myself to upgrade... it's been a cracker.

SUP on!!!

So did some more research and some window shopping ... found a great place in Gerringong that had a good variety of boards. Unfortunately they only will demo 2 boards they have ... and not the ones i want to have a go on.

I found the Naish Mana you guys talked about ...looked good... but i also liked the McGee Kainoa 10'6.

I found this post on the forums but cant really find any other info anywhere online..
www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Stand-Up-Paddle/Review/Mc-Gee-Boards/

From the offical site it looks like the 10'6 is a 32" 4 1/2 width
www.kainoamcgee.com/boards/

Anyone know about it??

Attached some pics to compare to the Mana. They also had the star widepoint which seems like a good choice for what i want...and a bit more expensive .. a few lopez boards.

Thanks for your advice everyone.

Im the proud new owner of a Kainoa Mcgee Bamboo 10"6'.

Was debating between this and the Naish Mana... but they have very similar dimensions, rocker & rails... Got a real good deal with a carbon 8" paddle, bag and leash.

Gave it a little whirl on flatish water today ... to get a feel for how much to cut the paddle down... Thinking about 7ish inches above my head (when on flat ground) felt good , any comments on that... Cant wait to have a run on some small waves.
