Hey Gizzie,
Yes forum has slowed down and winter so not that many days on the water but got some waves last two days
A mate has a Bic wing for flat water padding, great to see you catching fish from it.
The best fish is always the ones you catch yourself.

Classic iron lady, not so pc but funny you should have posted that in funny images.

Nice fishes Gizzie, I would like to get so big fish when I'm trolling out to sea. I should try a Bic to paddle on, I would never tell your angler secret, ;-)

Bic Wing is nice & smooth paddling in glassy conditions (zero rocker)......but big effort if you heading into headwind & choppy waves. Best avoided :)

A bit dodgy.....3km of longline on the Wing.....kind of hoping for glassy conditions?

For those of you curious about the 3 km of longline thing......I anchor line to beach.......paddle out while attaching hooks where I think fit (allowed 25 hooks in nz).....anchor end of line with light bit of chain.......wind line back in to beach with primitive second hand 12 volt winch

Sick set up Gizz. I reckon something like that would go pretty good here too eh - although 3 kay's of line might get a tad frowned upon.

I reckon a stingray spear would go alright off my 14' Search - stingray's a top feed eh - and there's plenty of them around. I've seen the occasional mud crab swimming past - just getting them on the board without losing a finger's the trick. How good's the feed you're getting - wild!
Inspirational stuff Gizz.

Here regulations are one person or boat one longline only permitted. Maximum of 25 hooks allowed. Must have name/phone number on marker buoys. You would not be popular here in Tolaga Bay targeting stingrays. Around here they have a good reputation....traditional spiritual relationships with local people. "Walk with and pat and feed the stingray" activities along a local beach area.
But yep......definitely a buzz paddling out and catching something (sometimes slightly frightened}

Probably the most important Bic Wing fishing advice....strap a Ke Nalu paddle to front deck in case you snap your cheapy paddle lol
