Hi I have a Labrador and I am about to buy a SUP.

I want to be able to SUP with my dog but also to paddle without too, so I need a SUP
that is good for both.

I have been recommended a inflatable SUP. Can anyone advise the best brands to buy?

I am in Perth, Western Australia.

Red Paddle Co. have been the market leaders in iSUP's for a while. Naish & Starboard also have improved theirs significantly of late

I have a Naish Air-Glide that's 12'x 34" that I bought for paddling with my large dog (40kg English Pointer).

www.naishsurfing.com/product/glide-inflatable-120-x34-fusion/

Something like that would be perfect for yourself and a large Lab.

How heavy are you?

G'day DavidJohn, I am 100Kg's and I have one lab who is 30 kilos and another who is 37.

I plan to only have one on the board at a time.

How many litres is you board?

And is it an inflatable?

I will have a look at the link you posted now

Cheers

Hi Matt,
I have 1 x JL STILETTO AIR on sale in the classifieds....PM if interested...

The Stiletto Air is designed to be fast, stable, and great for paddling long distances easily. It's one of the fastest inflatables on the market. Very durable construction and can be inflated up to 25 PSI!
Comes Backpack, Pump, Fin, Patch Kit and valve wrench.

12'6"x29"x6"

Yes it's inflatable and here's a vid that I made back when I first bought it.

I'm your weight and I would struggle to paddle the 12'6"x 29" board posted above even without a dog on board if there was any chop. It would be a great board for someone lighter than us and a smaller dog.

At our weight we need more width to give us enough stability for paddling with a large dog unless you only paddle in glassy conditions or don't mind many falls.

I ended up also buying a 11'x 34" soft-top hard board that I mostly use with my dog.. See my second vid.

I have a Red Paddle Sport 11' x 30" and I am 65kg, and that wouldn't be comfy with 130kg. Their 14' ride you could have a party on. I can vouch for the quality and robustness of the Red Paddle inflatables. They are excellent, paddle very well, but they are not cheap.

hey mate, the biggest issue especially putting a dog on your sup is that a inflatable is light weight and claws will definitely punch holes through the sup if your not careful. each sup inflatable brand has its pros and cons, best suggestion shop around ( i have 6 - 4 are different brands).
