I have owned a halo 11ft since december, my first board and very impressed with it. I did try a few other brand name boards but for my first board and the price I couldn't go past the atlantis as I wasn't sure I would get hooked or not so didnt wan't to spend $1500 plus or go second hand to start with... (hooked I am) can't wait to get a bigger race board now. still I can't fault the atlantis yet. It ant made in the same factory as the worlds leading brands but they also an't trying to compete with them on the world scale. to me it seems sound and strong very stable surfs well for such a big board and I seem to paddle the distance paddles just fine with it... can't report on the shorter surf models but they could only be as good as the halo's construction.

you might not be liked to much on here though if you don't go for a leading brand name board but I don't like to go with the grain in life anyways..

I had my finger hovered over the purchase button on this, the boards look good. I to would appreciate any comments on these. Freight to W.A is a bit of a bummer. Are there stockists in WA as I would like to demo before I buy.

should one expect to get a free demo included in such a low RRP board??

just curious.

often if you buy a low RRP item then you shouldn't expect to get a free demo.

sounds pretty good tho.
good work

I have had the 8'8" Vex profusion for a few months now. Surfed 2 foot onshore slop up to 4' clean and solid waves. All good so far. Not the lightest but solid construction. Nice lines. Very stable for me - I weigh 80kg. You must put good fins on it!

Hi Mate
New to this forum but been paddling for about two years now. When we started my wife and I took the plunge and bought two brand name boards. Fantic 11' and a 10'6 for her. Learnt to paddle on these and had to fight the two kids off them continually. That forced me to have to get two more! I wasnt prepared to drop another $3K to only have the kids possibly loose interest. So we bought two Atlantis Halo 9'6" for the boys aged 14 and 12. They love them. Nothing like having youre whole family out in the surf sharing waves or paddling a river doing some exploring. SW did a great deal on them and the service was great. Cant fault them so far.

But the interesting bit is we love them more. If the kids aren't around, our big boards stay in the rack and we just take these. Surf or flat water theyre excellent. Ive had them out in cyclone surf up at Double island, well overhead and had a ball.

I cant fault them. Quality appears excellent, easily as good as my fantic. Will they last as well? Who knows. had them for nearly 6 months, used most weeks and seem to be holding up fine.

Im 88kg and 5'11 and can paddle the 9'6 in flat and surf no problems at all. The board surfs really well. As said earlier not the lightest but my 12 yr old can carry and surf it so its not that heavy.

If i had the chance to do it again i would have started with an 10'6 halo
hope this helps
cheers

Hi KennyK,
Here is a clip this week of Jarrod surfing our 10'6 "Halo" at Rainbow Bay on the Gold Coast. Jarrod is only 68kg and turned this board on a dime.

10'6 is 181.8 litres

Demo's available from both outlets on the Gold & Sunshine Coast.
