They always seem to update the windsurfing range every year so I was sort of hoping for some new SUP designs for this coming season.

Any news?

Apparently the new Fanatics are on the way, a mate of mine went to the dealers meeting the other week and is blown away by the new range. I'm not sure what the other manufacturers are doing but I reckon all the new stuff will be hitting in the next month or so.

I spoke with a dealer friend in NZ when I shot home for a visit, and he wasn't giving much away but said there are going to be some stunning stuff coming out for next season

I hope they get brought into NZ then so we can see and drool over them. A change of color would also be a good idea as red is just not everyones cup of tea and also helps identify the new seasons models :-)

Any chance of sending a demo board down

for the next up and cumming TAS DEMO DAY

In about 4 weeks time.

We're into wave performance

about 120 to 140 liter buoyancy.

Cheers

Saw the new brochure but no pictures of 14' as they don't have any in the brochure. :-( Paint job looks nice on the 12'6 carbon. HRS has different paint job and white bottom. Apparently the 14's are only in prototype stage and I couldn't get any rocker information on the new ocean racer 14' by 30" at 317Lt.

I will probably order a 14' x 30 HRS construction but its a big leap of faith as I haven't seen any pictures.

The word is that the Fanatic Range for 2012-13 is awesome. Lots of options. Sam, WSS said the range is very strong this year again.

Can you reveal what type of nose profile they have? Cutting, piercing or fat?

Hey guys you will find there is really no info out there on the boards just yet! a few guys at the Dealers meeting paddled some of the boards so if you get in to you local Fanatic shop they should be able to give you a base run down on the boards and how they go. Myself and a few other Aussies have worked very hard with Sebistan on these boards and we are pretty stoked with how they have come out and cant wait for them to hit the market. Fanatic spent alot of money testing these boards to make them right so people will be able to buy a production race winning board!!

Ordered one, a 14' x 30" HRS at 317lts

I'm sure it will be just what I am after for doing some downwinders. The extra width will suit my 105kgs.

I can't wait .....

Any news or pics of the 2013 Fanatic Race boards?

I was on the fence on buying a 2012 12'6x27.75'' Fanatic Carbon but now i don't know if should i wait for the new ones...

Something i love from the 2012 12'6 is its low profile make it a great board on crossed winds, but now with almost 40 liters more i doubt it'll be that good in crossed winds.

Any info?

Thanks!

The board is no worries in a cross wind! they rail steer very easy which helps heaps in cross wind stuff. I have paddled it heaps and find it just as easy in the cross wind if not easier than this years boards!!

Hi, I've been lurking for a while just trying to gleen as much info as possible from those of you experienced with the 12'6". I too am ready to purchase one.....maybe tomorrow as there is one just leaning against the wall calling me at a local shop. But I would like to know when the 2013 models will be available and if it is worth waiting for as I'm not really in a hurry. Thank you.

Hard question as things can get delayed as anyone would know when waiting for something!! at a guess around late Sept to October is when most boards get released and can also depend where you are in the world as well!! If you are ready now waiting that long could be quite hard!!

Well, i'll wait till they come out to read some reviews before i buy it.

I own now a Hobie 12'6 and i do really like the board, but it isn't the best board in crossed winds due its higher profile, so... i'm still afraid of those 40 liters of difference between the 2012 and the 2013 model (225 ltr Vs 264 ltr).

Jacko, maybe you're riding the 2013 25'' version now?

BTW, could you post your oppinion on what are the advantages on the 2013 model over the 2012 one? When i tried the 2012 version i found it really fast, but not as light as i thought it would be. In fact my Hobie feels lighter.

Thanks for you insights!
Coque.

PS: I'm writing you from Europe.

Thank you for the response. Is there anywhere we can get a sneak preview of the board? Maybe to see shape/color? Thank you.

BTW I'm in Florida, USA and I believe Fanatic is maybe based in Miami???? not sure though but I find out more about the board on this site than anywhere else. Thanks again.

Sorry can't help with any pics as it's up to Fanatic when they release pics and info on the boards and they would not be happy for anyone to release Pic's before they were ready!!
Sorry!!!

In short the answer is no.

Different companies release their gear at different times. The majority of the Fanatic race stuff is still a way off. The new race boards will not be arriving with the first shipment of 2013 Fanatic boards.

Some of the current boards have only been available for about 8 months. You wouldn't want them rushing a new shape to market if it wasn't any good.

True, but their race board designs are like 2 years old or so... That's why i'm waiting for the new ones.

If they have designed, tested and started to manufacture the new season boards, why not publish the info

I might just get a naish instead.....

I think they call them 2013 models for something...

If i was a supshop owner with some 2012 boards on stock i wouldnt like at all watching the brands releasing their new models before i sell the 2012 ones. So i fully understand that they don't release any new info untill the right time of the season.

On the other side, as buyer, i'm anxious to know more about the new models.

BTW, here's the Fanatic Ray: "The Fanatic RAY - is a cruising board for fishing, touring and downwinding. The Ray is big, real big. Like 12' x 31.75 and 271 lt and the 11' x 30" model. Lots of tie down points for cargo and such and ridiculously stable. The 12 footer is so stable anyone could ride it downwind on their first ride."

Brusier already posted that link at the begining of this thread...

Sorry for the repost of the link. I ran across it last night but didn't know the date it was posted. I thought it was "new" news and not "old" news.

The Ray looks nice to. A shop in Fort Lauderdale, FL has them in stock. I was told they have had some...and sold...that were used in the HIHO race in the BVI. This week I plan to demo a 14' and 12'6 Race together and maybe a Ray as well. For my hieght and weight I'm thinking the 12'6 will be the best fit.
