Apart from sick graphics & durability at another level.....

The 12'6” TR-2 (yellow deck) has many features of the original 12'6” TR, but incorporates a new forward section....a piercing bow shape with planing surfaces towards the rear.....this makes the board ride more smoothly & quickly through chop.
Next generation of stable, fast, flat-water boards that are just as comfortable on long tours, as they are on weekend races.
Added volume in the nose keeps it riding high & the inverted V-shaped deck funnels the water off the deck.
The standing area is slightly recessed, to lower your center of gravity and provide a more comfortable standing area. Also has 4 deck inserts to haul some gear.
Suitable for paddlers up to 115kgs.
Specs: 12'6” x 29” x 6 1⁄4” 239 liters, weight 14kgs.

Is the bow deck as peaked as my Fanatic Fly Race 30.5? It's hard to tell from the pictures. I love my board, but it's way to wide for me at 72 kilos. And wow, 12 kilos for the TR-X2! Is that the spec weight or you actually got to put it on a scale? Lastly, please explain your comment regarding durability. Has the construction changed or were the previous models not durable? I've only owned a Starboard, a Naish and a Fanatic; and all are(have been) bullet proof. I don't want to downgrade on durability. Hate to say bye to my Clear Wood, but I'm ready to narrow up a bit.

Durability -
No major problems with 2011/12 boards, for 2013 I was just highlighting the paint quality on the rails was very impressive.
For the AST boards, we went with white for the best chance of paint sticking, & an easy fix if any rail damage were to occur.
With the 12'6” TR-X2 (with Bamboo deck) & the 14' TR-X, the painting process is different than AST......it is painted at the end, they also have a very polished finished because of it. The actual spot where the paddles hit the rail is still white though & the paint only comes down about 1 cm.
I saw these boards take a beating in Utah over rocks to get in/out over a rocky shore, used by hundreds of people....the 14ft got a small ding on the tail from being dropped waist high onto a pointy rock but other than that, they were all solid.


Bow Deck -
I'm not sure of the exact difference in the peak but the Fanatic seems to be definitely peaked a lot more than the Amundson's.
I've attached a couple of pics of the nose on the 12'6" TR-X2 Bamboo Carbon & a side pic that highlights it from a different angle.







Spec weight for the 12'6" TR-X2 is 12.5kgs, the 14' is 12.25kgs.

Yeah on the original post...the blk/red board is the 14', below is a few others though.

This board shares many of the latest design features of the 12'6” TR-X2, but expands them into a longer board which increases speed, glide & tracking.
The versatility enables it to excel in flat-water and downwinders yet still be stable enough to make it a great distance paddler in rough conditions. At 28” wide with a
flat bottom, this is one of the most stable 14 foot boards around.
The bow of the board has a full volume piercing nose design that transitions into a recessed standing area. With just the right amount of rocker, the board shows amazing speed in flat-water & chop.
Laminated with a full carbon top & bottom & a layer of high-density PVC foam in the standing area, has resulted in a board light enough for competition but durable enough to last. The deck is left unpainted so the carbon weave shines through.
The deck has 4 inserts for gear.
