OK im gonna give this Review thing a go.
Just had a magic SUPS out at Burleigh Heads on the Goldy for about 3hrs on my 9'6 Naish then sat in the bar right on the beach at the surf club sliding down a few Rumbos watching the waves roll in just as the sun was going down. [So ive Had a little Dutch courage to share this with you]
Ok first a few quick things you should know about myself.
Back in 2003 i was diagnosed with severe Osteo Arthritis of the hip joints due to many years of semi pro Soccer which was my biggest passion in life. The disability of having two dodgy hips also stopped me instantly from my second passion Surfing due to not being able to get to a standing position. Ive been kite surfing for the last 3 1/2 years which is awsome and got me back on a surf board riding waves

As i needed that wind to surf you can imgine what i was like when there was perfect waves and glassy conditions[ no wind

]
October last year Jb was up at the Goldy demoing a few different boards, after having a few goes and struggling to keep getting to my feet because of my hips after continuously falling off, i wasnt too sure about the whole SUP thing.
Well My local Kite shop gave me a deal on a 11'6 Naish and within a week i had my own technique using the handle of my paddle to assist me in standing up from a kneeling position. Yeahhhhhhhhh.............
I was 84kgs when i started and soon out grown the 11'6 droping 15 kgs from all the Surfing finding it very easy to throw around on most waves. I had been on the 10'6 Naish up untill 4 weeks ago what a great board a little tippy but very easy to surf and pick up waves from point breaks to beachys. Pauly J and Ang got me in the first 9'6 Naish that they could, i have been riding it for the last 4 weeks just about every day, this is a Magic board. Im now only 70 kg and this board just feels so light and easy to throw around .I had a few random guys that are Burleigh local surfers comment on how easy i picked up waves and maneouvered the board and are keen to have a go.
To me its more stable than the 10'6 Naish and also the C4 9'4 which is also a nice board to ride in the right wave,
the 9'6 likes to really be driven in to a turn you think youre about to push too hard then it just grabs and takes the turn so smooth.
For me its just a great allround board catching the same waves as my 11'6 and as easy, its so stable for a short board even with my stuffed hips.
I have ridden alot of the other boards on the market around the coast here from C4 to starboards local shapers and some mates home made boards which i will say are are alot better than the local shapers and surf very well.
So if you get the chance to try The Naish 9'6 get ready for the new world of suping
just make sure you give it a few days to Dial it in , I think you wont be disapointed
Thanks Guys
