Im looking for a bigger blokes good wave shape. . . around an 8'8 x 30 at say 125L. Rounded square tail...
There arent many good bigger boards around, most are scaled versions of the smaller boards that the pro's ride. . . taking the design for a 7'7 and stretching it.
I think they need to get someone like Luke Egan who obviously rips, but is over 90kegs . . sorry Luke if Im giving away your beef : ) and make them to suit. . .
At the moment I reckon bigger guys really need to go custom to get what they are after. I.M.O : )
no you don't have too. the new nsp is the best sup i've ever surfed. i think its 125l or a touch more. great stability and absolutely rips the bags out of it- no bull****
this coming from someone who usually suffs 8'8, 8'6 x 28 0r less and my last board was a jp 7'4 wide body.
ps i did like the jp, but the alley is such a big paddle and often messy and rippy from the creek mouth run in and out. not enough paddle power there for me. beachies -yep
Laceys lane, can you say which board out of the 7'4 JP and the 9'2 NSP you think is more fun for beach break type waves ?
I'd like to know which is the faster down-the-line board ?
I like the look of the 7'4 but worry it may be a bit slow being so wide...?
Thanks
Kneesup
for me the 7'4 went good in clean point surf. but not a down the line speed machine.
in beachies i found it really good, fast too. quicker turning due to its much shorter lenght as one would expect. the sectional throw up power of beach beaks suit it.
haven't tried the nsp in beachies.
i expect it would be good and most probably be better in a bit of size. a friend was stoked with his in 4 to 5 ft beachies the other day.
to sum up i don't think speed in beach breaks would be a issue with the jp 7'4
