They are VERY different boards. For instance, the V2 has a single concave mainly up front but the V1 has a kinda double most of the length. The plan shape is different, the rocker is different, the nose is completely different, the tail is different (much finer on the V2) the rails are different etc etc. The V2 is also almost 2 inches longer than the V1.
They are very different boards designed for very different DW conditions. They need to be ridden in different ways too. But there is the same definite SIC feel to their handling, and the stability of both boards is similar (but then they are the same width).
I'll be keeping the V1 for big gnarly DW conditions, and use the V2 for smaller ocean conditions.
