I have this board at the moment it seems the best fit for my weight (89 kg) and surf ability. I presently also have a sunova flow 9'2 but find the step down in litres (or something) causes balance problems as I paddle into the wave. Even though I like the it surfs on the wave I can't catch as many waves. I am looking to upgrade the naish mana to a newer board with a few less dings (2016 model). Is there another board with the same length and litres that matches the naish mana that I could also consider.

My first SUP was a 10 foot Naish Mana which was great board to catch waves but was hard to surf well. I went from this board to a Starboard Wide Point 8 foot 10 inch. 32 inch wide and was just what i was looking for stability plus wave catching ability mixed with great surfing abilities...

Briansup...I have a mana 9'5, this summer bought a JP 8'8 widebody to develop my surfing. Found this to be a super stable board and less corky than the mana, although took a while to get the wave count up.. I will keep the mana for those ****ty choppy days while getting better on the JP as I dont get out often enough.

Would advise trying the JP, starby, hokua ...try to do it back to back to get a real comparison. By the way Im 98Kegs..old and not that good!

Thanks for all those replies, I have had a quick look at those suggestions on the board sites and all have a drop in litres from the mana which takes me back to why I think I am having trouble on the sunova flow. I think I will stay with the mana to have as the go to board for those ****ty choppy days.

Thanks Tardy
I looked up the Hokua GT which is 140L but I see the Hokua X32 is 170L is that the board you are recommending. Does it paddle well in choppy conditions? Or do you find you have to constantly need to change hands.

Hi briansup19.
sorry yes x32 .it is 32 wide like the 9.5 mana .
It is pretty stable @ 32 .I'm a bit greedy and have a 9.5 mana too.
I prefer to surf the Hokua x32 .Its made for waves.more rocker and less nose .than the mana.
the mana is faster on the wave but doesn't have the turning ability of the x32.
When your on a wave you want the board to be able to slow down so you can turn.
The mana is good in smaller waves but In my experience the x32 leaves it for dead as soon as it gets steep and more size.
It is a great performer .
its stable in chop .
Ive thought of going smaller ....but I still hit the lip do big cutties ,and do catch wave easy ..etc..I think why .I'm having a great time and doing it easy .
As a heavy weight .I love this board.I still like the mana .But if its cranking and I want to cut loose I grab the x32 Hokua .
the 9.1 Hokua x32 has 150 litres . If you wanted to drop further .
i hope this helps.

Thanks again Tardy
That couldn't be more helpful that's a great comparison between those to boards.
