I am selling off my 11'6 Fanatic in order to go for a smaller, more wave oriented board. I am 6'4 and 114 kg so I am currently deciding between the 2014 Allwave 9'10 or the 2014 Naish Mana 10'. I know lots of people have ridden the Allwave and that there haven't been any changes to the design this year. With the new Mana shape, how does it compare to the Allwave? I am looking at stability and surfing performance between the two. Any thoughts?

It may be more about what you're used to but I like the new shape Mana's better.. I find the Allwave a little boxy in the rails and more suited to surfing from the tail.. The new Mana's seem to turn well from more forward on the board.. Try and demo both.. Both are great boards imo.

Thanks for the reply DJ. I haven't been able to have a proper try of the Mana yet, but was able to have a good hour and a half to two hours on the 9'10 Allwave earlier this week. I really enjoyed it! I did notice that you have to get on the back to keep the nose from pearling but it was very easy to get onto a wave and maneuver (especially compare to my 11'6). The weather turned a it windy and choppy and even through that I found the board to be incredibly stable.

That's great.. I think you will be surprised at how different the Mana is.

I agree with DJ I have a 9'1 allwave and then purchased the 8'5 mana and I love the mana. I use the allwave now when the mrs comes out. If she doesn't I ride the mana.
