G'day Crew, I have read a few of the early reviews of this board but just looking for reviews or info from someone who may have owned one for a while now, how's the construction held up, is the weight manageable etc. I am aware that these are a touring board and have owned a few race boards before but am looking for something to cover a bit of distance carrying some gear.
Any info appreciated.

It's a big heavy board.. but rock solid and paddles beautifully.. It feels fast.. and feels supper-dooper stable..

I've got the 14 X 29 Glide and couldn't rate it any higher! In saying that, I have tried the 14 X 30 Glide and found it to feel like a huge board in the water. Of course, I had just paddled the Naish 14 X 29 Javelin prior so that might have had something to do with it. One thing I found that I didn't care for was the recessed deck...I didn't like the feeling of having my feet locked in. This may just take some getting used to or may not be an issue for other but was uncomfortable for me. If you want something that is a stable platform, then as DJ mentioned, the board is extremely stable.

Actually, DJ they are the 2015 models.
The 2014 is much different, for a start the GX was carbon on the bottom, and lighter.
You had the GS which weighed a bit more than the GX, but still lighter than the 2015's.
I had the GX for 9 months, was a really good all round race style board. I liked it alot, just didn't suit what I wanted to do mostly so I traded it on an new 11' Nalu. It weighed about the same as the Nalu I reckon.

Not really sure which board you're looking at? 2014 Naish Glide 14' x 29.25" GS?
If so, that's the one I've got and I'd rate it pretty bloody good. I explore, downwind and surf it. Surfing knocks it around a bit, and its got minor pressure dings on the bottom and the odd dint in the rails from wipeouts and bodily contact. Despite that I'd have to say that durability is excellent compared to anything else I've had. The deck grip is still great.
The weight is manageable yes, but not ideal. Depends on how far you're carrying it. I cart it 500m to the beach and back all the time - you get used to it.

Haven't owned it but have paddled it a couple of times. It's crazy stable, especially down the back, glides well and feels stiff and solid underfoot but it is heavy (although no heavier than the old 14 x 30" HRS falcon, it's probably a kg or two lighter than that beast and the handle is much better) . It felt kind of heavy in the water to me and on-and-off the car might be a chore...but like DJ said I'd love to try one on a honking downwinder I reckon it would be easy handling and would motor.

Also I really liked the new 12'6 x 30 glide - a little heavy too but again crazy stable and not too hard to chuck around, especially for a big unit. It felt like fun.

I notice on the Naish website it mentions the 14x30 is good for downwinders but the 14x29 doesn't have any mention of downwind ability. Is this just an omission or is there a reason why the 14x29 would not be suitable for downwind?
Also is there likely to be much of a speed difference between the 29" and 30"?

Check DJ's back catalogue of videos and you'll find dozens of videos of him downwinding the 29".
