Hi
I have had a SB WP 8'2" silver for the last 12 months and like this board. My Weight is 90 Kg I found they have well turn ability, but the entry into the wave late.

Lately I tried the RRD super sup 7'11, for my Surprise this board was faster than the SB 8'2 and enter into waves so easy and earlier so it made me understands what is missing in my SB. The problem with the RRD 7'11 super sup is that it comes only with a thruster fin set-up option.

I am thinking to buy the new Naish 32" but I don't have information how to choose between the 7'10 to the 8'3 and how they feels VS SB WP 8'2 in two main parameters maneuverability and entering into waves?

Thanks

What about the new RRD cosmo ?
I seem to remember beer pig was raving about the 8' in another post, but can't find the post - if you're reading this beer pig can you tell us more about the board, if you ended up buying one or have ridden it again since your last post...?
Here's a link, 8' & 8'5 available:

HI
I was reading on the the RRD Cosmo has but the wide nose disturbs me, from other reviews I know the wide nose is disadvantage and producers narrow the nose to improve maneuverability, This action of narrow the nose append with the SB WP 8'2 and with the RRD super SUP 8'11 .

I you want to enter the wave early, you must look at the rocker. A flat rocker, especially in the nose, will work wonders. Upturned noses will make the board push water.

erang, a wide nose may prevent you from extra tightening your turns in the pocket, but
- the cosmo does doesnt seem so wide in the pictures
- take into account the length of the board: a 7'6" wide nose will have much less burden in the nose than a 8'6" narrow nose.. and be stabler and take off earlier if it has a flat rocker in front.

Also, I found out that just widening the main width of a board and keeping a curved outline, even more curved due to the width will kill its paddling speed and wave entry. If you seek speed, on take off and after, look more into "parallel rails", wide everywhere, short & fast boards: Simmons, Fishes, Wombats, Hybrids... The native stability of these shapes will allow you to take them narrower and shorter than other shapes...

I tested the x32 in 8'3 and 7'10 and the carbon wp in an 8'2. All great boards but i found the naishs more performance orientated.

I ended up buying the 7'10 x32 with no regrets. Doesnt have the glide of the others but it comes alive on the wave. U do catch it a bit late but its so much frickin fun once your on the wave. Wish they made the board in a 30 width - it may make paddling on side a little longer.

All great boards tho.

P.S average SUPer and weigh 75 kg

Hi Kneesup and colas, thanks for the tip.

I went today to see the RRD cosmo. indeed it is a beautiful board. it's only increased my dilemma with two more models the 8 and 8.5 RRD. surprisingly it's looks like the cosmo has double concave / v bottom a very progressive sape...

The only problem is that this board was ordered and they do not have demo. the same with the naish 8.3& 7.10 no demo..

still big qwestion regarding maneuverability and the liveness of the boards.

Hi erang,

Sorry to add the cosmo to your new board dilemma, but it sounds like it could be a good one - I've found what beer pig said:

like the sound of this one myself & keen to hear more reviews...
