Hi Guys,
Picking up my new Glide tomorrow. It's all your fault DJ
How much more careful do you have to be with this board compared to the AST construction, i.e. tying down to roof, laying on floor, small bumpsy daisies ?
Pretty amped and as I said earlier, it's thanks to you and your videos DJ.
You've made a Naish fan boy here in Auckland.
If you're ever in Aucks or I'm in Melbourne, the drinks are on me

Pretty sure GX's come with a board bag so that'll make life a tad easier!

Congrats.. I'm sure you'll love it... and also pretty sure the GX does come with a bag.. I think most board damage that happens to these big boards happens out of the water so the bag will help with those little knocks, bumps and scratches.

I don't think you need to be any more careful with the GX.. It's noticeably lighter than the GS but still a very strong construction.. Although I'm not a big fan of rail tape it's probably a good idea.. Mostly for when resting the board on its side on concrete or the road.. As far as tying it down on the roof of your car I have my straps only snug so you can still push/slide the strap slightly left and right along the rail.. If it's so tight that you can't slide them it's probably too tight and you risk rail damage.. I would rather my board move around slightly in the wind while on the roof at high speeds rather than be rock solid tight.. Also it's a good idea to use roof rack pads.

Glad you enjoy my DW vids.. We've had a huge lull in DW direction winds lately (Autumn) but once we start getting good strong winds again I'm going to try and do some DW tips vids.. Hope you make it over this way one day and can join us on one of our DW runs..

What DJ said.
I've got the GX too. Very tuff for a carbon board. Comes with a bag, don't tighten roof rack straps too much or risk cracking the rails. Majority of bumps and nicks happen out of the water so always be mindful of how much space you have around you when manoeuvring.

LOL, was just about to post that very question!
Could you please explain the reasons?
Thanks.

IMO.. Forward is to help with turning.. and back helps with tracking.

These long boards track like a steam train.. but are hard to turn.

Put a folded towel up against it and hit it with the base if your fist

Unscrew it completely, then bang it as suggested. The fin will pivot upwards. Once it has pivoted then it will slide easy.

I agree I have the jav in the gx version and its tough as nails for a carbon board, not one proper ding.
